Repco had a rather flash battery tester. It said the alternator was fine and the battery was only holding 25% of its charge. He performed two different tests. One on start up and one under load. Result was a new battery at $160. Makes a nice change to get some decent service at Repco.

Hi all, My 87 E30 is playing up in the battery department. Recently bought the car and dicovered the battery was completely dry. I topped it up and hoped for the best. Sometimes it turns over with vigor and other times it is totally dead. I don't want to buy a new battery if it is a charging fault. It doesn't seem to matter if it's a long trip or not. Sometimes I win and sometimes I push. Any ideas?

Are adpters legal? Any idea how much adapters are and who does the best deal? Any photos with them on the E30?

I would be keen on a tech 1 coupe kit at some stage depending on price.

Just wanting to know if a set of 17 "x 7 " fitment of 4x100 and an offset of 38 will fit my 87 E30 320i?

I have always found the stock wheels on a commodore are a dead giveaway. No other commodore owner would be seen dead with those ugly wheels on.

O.K. I dont get the whole offset thing. If you point and show me I'll get it, but reading about it and I'm screwed. You see a lot of new cars with 15, 16 and 17 inch 4 stud wheels on them Things like Suzuki swifts and Ford Festiva's as an example. Do these fit the E30? I think some of these wheels are awesome and would look great. Are these an option?

The steering wheel wont come off if the steering lock is on. So it cant be that. I just think they think all bmw's are the same. Dumb Repco monkey's

I have just tried fitting my new steering wheel to my e30. Picked up the boss kit from Repco and it doesnt even look like fitting. The boss doesnt even make it onto the spindle. Does anyone have a photo of what the back of the boss should look like or point out where I have gone wrong.

As to be expected with a 22 year old car, the clear coat is coming off my bonnet. Looks rather ugly and I would like to get it sorted. Does anyone have an idea if this is a major or an easy fix. What sort of $$ am I up for? I am wanting the car tidy so I can look at doing the odd Wedding in it.

The fact that the bonnet will never ever fly up at me!!

Imagine my surprise when I saw David Coultards previous years car on display at a car yard in Palmerston North a few years ago. The cockpit was tiny. Almost no press or advertising that it was there. If I wasn't cruising around as a rep looking for something to do I would have missed it.

Need to replace the front shocks on my 87 320i. Anyone got anything suitable?
