  1. Farrrrk - Im soooooooooooooo your echo now......my baaaad!!!!
  2. Umm, yes - agreed. Is'nt this the guy that had a zig, when there shoulda maybe be a zag, & then didn't pass go, didn't collect $200, bit the one way ticket............??? I think, from a bourbon memory only, he may have been a passenger when it all went pearshaped.........??? Talented, yes. On streets, ummm, not the place IMO..........
  3. Well I've read this a few times now. Sounding waaaay too sensible for a Friday night, but umm, yea, in terms of planet alignment etc, could very well be true. You're right in that sometimes ppl buy $hit, & then make it take 3 steps backwards from what it should be buy fitting, umm, very average tyres or shocks or whatever.....
  4. Ahhhhh, no son - Im looking @ the bottle, well current bottle anyway, & it has a Woodstock label on it - its goooood $hit - you should try it sometime. That weasel pi$$ Lion Red you keep persisting with when having some amber Fanta's with the Ethiopian fruit-flys, we tend to use it as weed-spray down-here ae, good for that & washing out your gumboots but hey, that's bout it........... So, what we looking at this weekend dude - hate to point it out but tick tock dickory dock sorta thing, time is counting down on your 2 weeks being up. We need ya to actually tip the piggy bank out so we can then be proactively helping ya on mods info........... cos we're good like that here. Opps, my baaad - we're awesome like THAT here...........
  5. Ya should be really proud of what you've done there Matt - much like Andy with his V12 conversion, its just awesome to see guys hooking into stuff & giving it a proper nudge, rather than a half a$$ed limp-wristed attempt......... Well done!!
  6. Umm, no, but yea, aka yes Grasshopper..........close, but yet only half a cigar, nice try though........ Depending on how airtight the 328 was, & how many times we had to stop to fix the GLOVEBOX SAG on da way, then hypothetically it should actually live longer but gestate shorter if it travels via a 328....... This of course is in parallel perspective with it travelling in a 318, because either A) It would die of boredom on the journey through it taking so long, or C) It would probably drown on the way. Through falling into a ditch...............
  7. Faaark - that's brilliant.............post of the day mate............ I just cracked up bigtime!! Gamers ae............... Soooooooooo, whatdwedowithdieselsatendoflifeyareckon?? Picture the scratching head smilie............
  8. Bugger.................!!! Least you'll have peace of mind once its back together again though, so a little pain & muttered curses at the mo will turn out ok once wheels start rolling again for ya.......... You sorted that 540 yet Chris.............or is it still making yr head hurt..??
  9. Well yes, I like this logic, it makes lots of sense, & I'm sure it'll bite me on the a$$ one day when I look at replacing what I've got, although to be fair, I'm hopeful my next car will be a E39 M5........ It'll still be slower than a 328, but I think my people will be able to slum it & just accept that............ Umm, I think the original topic was the gestation period of a Ethiopian fruit fly while its being driven seductively through a tropical area during mild weather in a 318 auto........but I'm happy to be corrected if that's wrong......
  10. Lols - I don't fink so...................I'd heard they're more in demand as boat anchors than anything else once they make a mess everywhere............. (Its ok - don't flame me at dawn tomorrow - I'm only taking the pi$$............)
  11. Now theres an idea................lols. Yea mate............be primo out in the shed. South Canterbury Toyota have got a Lexus V8 as their showroom coffee-table - looks grouse!!! Just built a log splitter before Xmas - thinking nother project is needed now.......... I like the idea of a motorised bar stool too for some reason - that'd be fun too me thinks.......
  12. Well yes, this is sorta true - I seem to recall you started it though re the speed bit, oh I dunno, 23 pages ago or something........in terms of how quick things are or could be but yes, you're now right in what you're saying, as far as this given time on a Friday anyway........this may change, & be open to further interputation once the tops start coming off bourbons later....... Last sentance there might be open to some debate............ Not from me though.........
  13. Yea, theres logic to what you're saying, but.............anything late model (particulary diesels...) is also in the same boat really once its outa warranty IMO, regardless of how many kms its done......... In some ways I'd sooner have this than one that's done 100,000kms, cos this girl has already proven it's durable & can go the distance. And personally, I'd also far sooner have this, than one of the same age that's done 60,000kms just hacking round town going to the hairdressers & cafes....... I don't think it'll be sale for long before some-one grabs it.........
  14. Kooolies!!!!! Good stuff! Sooooooooo, we're keeping the mighty Mini, & now that the 540 is staying, gonna work on pimping it out a bit so its quicker than a 328 ae.......
  15. As described - I'm wanting a dead 3.0 or 4.0 BMW V8 motor. If its totally naffed beyond doing anything with, that's fine, so long as its complete & hasn't got any holes in the block...... Stands to reason that 'cheap is goooooooooooooooood'................
  16. Dead right IMO - I don't, in relation to my own car anyway - its quick enough for me for what it is & as a package I think its primo, specially given the era its from etc. Its funny though, as there was some dribble somewhere from Toyota saying 'how quick' the new 250?? Lexus is on 0-100, (8.3secs) & I automatically thought to myself when I seen it "My 540 is quicker than that......" I know its not comparing apples with apples by any stretch of the imagination, but its interesting how the mind works sometimes...... Mines quick enough, & if I wanna go faster, I'd just jump on a bike....... Anyone got the time for a 318 auto, or does that involve a calendar instead of a stop-watch.........
  17. Some worse than others............but yea, cheers for that, we aim to please around here.........
  18. My thoughts too!!! Only thing that's slightly nagging at me about it is I'm wondering if in its history its been in a bit of a shunt...............its a bummer that carjam gives ya F/A info now without paying for it........ I wouldn't be put off by the kms its done anyway............
  19. Now that's............^^^^^^ bloody funny!!!! Agree re the cat, EGR............
  20. I think I'd either refurb what you've got, or go the import one from UK Graham - the new age turbo sounds great & all, but how bad do ya need it in terms of the extra $$$ above a refurb, in perspective of the long block has got 320,00kms on it anyway........ That 318 turned up yet.............??
  21. You live up north - just do what everyone else up there does to make a coupe - mig the rear doors shut, bita bog, can of spray, you're away..........we could do ya a primo deal on a E39 coupe or fast-back............(fast back being a Touring with rear doors migged shut........)
  22. Noooooooooooo Grasshopper ..........no. But yes, it is what I've got ...........but umm, you're not buying that .............you were talking bout 540's in terms of buying the one Jamie has got that's not for sale, so it was E39 540 stats.............
  23. I noticed that too, but its on topic & relevant............ I think it might be auto vs manual too.......... & my voices are thinking the 328 is measured from 10,000ft. Up. Outa the back of a plane. Without a chute....................
  24. I can soooooo do this - it goes mike fastest, then Davis, & due to being dead - St Clair is slowest ae...........aka third place. Let me guess - I win a ride in a 318?? 2nd prize is 2 rides............
