Any one in Napier starting a project ? Isetta
Phil-540i replied to mynbmr's topic in General Discussion
They're quite sweet really at some levels - I wouldn't mind owning one. Dunno if I'd want to drive it too far or at any great speed though......... -
Lols................^^^^
-
Well yes Jooles, theres always that side of things too...........& hey, doesn't matter what ya do with a 530, its never ever in its wildest dreams gonna sound anything like my 540 currently does............... Bar a M5, I think the only thing better would maybe be a super-charged V8...........I've heard some mad ba$tard has got that in the works...........the things some people do just so it can be as quick as a 328............
-
That was my thoughts ^^^ too. Awesome looking car though, in whats probably a simple understated colour. I like it, lots........... And it 'gets used' with it having racks - instant bonus points & free beer for that guy............... Great stuff!!
-
Yummy.................!!!! This'll be interesting.....................
-
That first 530, at the right price would be primo............I'd buy it, its sweet!!!
-
Lols - sometimes 2 of everything is just twice the brain-damage & head-aches too............ Spotted a trashed 7 series today, so went & seen if its rubber band was suitable - 3.5 6 cylinder.......
-
Absolutely - then between the both of ya I'd be able to get on the bourbon flavoured Fanta's bigtime........... But umm, aren't you supposed to be keeping your one Jamie............ Picture it as like trying to find the perfect woman..................sometimes ya gotta kick a few rocks on the way.............. I heard Allan is heading your way soonish, gonna tip ya upside down so all the loose change falls outa pockets, & then he'll be away to find ya something.........
-
Yea, gotta agree with ya here - the white one by a longshot................. I'm cracking up at the bit on tail-pipes, like seriously, that's gonna make a difference really on whether to buy it or noooooot?? Reality, in totally my opinion, is probably 80% of E36 cars out there nowdays are just a f#cked P.O.S., whether its at 2k or 6k pricing Ditch-Boy...... They are the budget car in the BMW line-up at the time...................as time has marched on from new they have had (in the bulk of cases..) owners who were / are attracted by the badge on the front, & for the sake of a extra $45 per month over 48 months, over the Camry they shoulda brought, they got the E36 instead because 'it looks better in the driveway'.......... As such, they haven't been maintained, they wear cheap tyres etc, & at this stage of their life they need some TLC........... The 'lucky ones' get brought by enthusiasts now - the unlucky ones get further boganised / b#stardised by backwards cap wearing wannabes that see the next step being wreckers, or scrap metal truck.......... Difference is 5 & 7 series cars at the time, & generally on the way through, lead a fairly pampered & sheltered life in comparison.......
-
Bugger - at least she rang first to give ya time to process it.................
-
Exactly............well said...........I tend to buy most of my vehicles 'sight unseen, it is what it is' sorta thing, unless its a new one........even my 540 was brought like that, & I gotta say that touch wood, its always worked out fine......... Meanwhile, 502 pages later here.........we're still playing pocket tiddly-winks..........
-
Yea, ya came outa that alright probably, sad as it is the car did its job in terms of 'protecting you'. Seen a local young guy today at a friend's place while out & about, that did similar gymnastics in a RX-8 a couple of weeks ago - he's had neuro-surgery & a plate inserted in his skull due to the A-pillar collapsing. Lucky to be alive, but doesn't seem too much worse for wear really........ He's a slow learner though, as he's already used up a couple of lives with moto-x crashes.........
-
Coulda sooooo been a 318, more recently, more local to ya...................
-
Ummm, I dunno - at a wild guess, umm, you'll only offer 2/3rds wot its worth..........??? Been to look @ that local one yet or what................????
-
Seen a M5 E39 last weekend. Wuz parked up, looking nicely seductive as they do, much like Darren's one. Even made me cross the road for a better loooooksee. Was sweet looking. Ticking boxes everywhere, cos some people like them ae. Quite a bit. Mmmmm, oh baby - was great looking car............ Until I read the bloody rego label - 530...................into a M5 replica!!!! Like, YTF would ya do that...............???? EDit. And yes, it had ALL the 'correct' (Incorrect really.......) external trim & badging on it, right down to the M5 badge on the back of the girl........was gutted at finding out it was a wannabe...........
-
Primo outcome for ya............ Kudos for giving credit where done too.........
-
Yea mate, glad ya came outa it ok - pics of the event must be overdue surely though showing how good the mighty E39 shielded ya.......
-
Grasshopper, we have been down da coupe road.....................
-
His Mum has already said he's not allowed to play with anything 'dangerous' - that's why DB had a 318 first time round......... Must go - bourbon is getting warmer, which is wrong at lotz of levels.............
-
If an orange wasn't orange in colour, what ya reckon it woulda been called?? Like, if it was originally 'red' instead of orange, would we now have 'red & mango' as a drink?? And who came up with that as a name - some wannabe rocket scientist 'failure' seen it, & goes "Hmm, I'll call you an 'orange', after your colour"............ & if that's 'the standard of intelligence', why didn't bananas get called 'yellows'................... Friday, & DB ain't brought a car yet - Surprise..........not!!!!!!
-
Lols^^^^^^^ yiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip. I think my people & 'the voices' are hearing ya there dude....... Actually, theres probably some really good 'back in the day' stories around ae............(rather than 'baaaackwarrrds into da ditch in the 318 big block..')

Ahh, rodgey - that's good.............those white ones taste nearly as good as a Hereford on the bbq............. Yea, dunno why I go through so much diff oil either............. but as a hint, all my vehicles bar the E34 have a front diff as well as a rear LSD, & umm, they go swimming regulary in deep water............thus water still gets in even with extended breathers on diffs........ Personally, I think todays E36 'wreck of the moment' (aka 'Dray of the day') is not bad probably. There was another floating around too till coupla days ago, sedan 2.8 for 2.9k, which I thought was rather a not bad car too........ Spend a bita $$$ on it, fix the glovebox, & all will be sweeeeeeeeeeet............ Bit of a shame you're going through all this just to get that though ae............. Beats that MX 5 & 318 ya had though, haha!! Imagine a E46 328 / 330............or a 530 / 535 / 540................
-
Soooooo, back to the Woodstock heading my way.................& the cow colour................like, "Heeeello"................ Agree with what ya said re LSD's & counter steering etc, nice theory. Might wanna swot up a bit on da practical aspects though ae........... I replace diff oils regulary, & only with Castrol product - its great!! Yea you're right DB, the E34 has got the ASC+T on it, which umm, has a off button............ Edit. Somewhat unbelievably, this thread that's on northern mind altering substances has had nearly 1000 extra views in the last 24hrs......
-
Yea, I know all that, really, realistically, we've got ditch-boy getting all excited bout them but in the real world, just how useful is a LSD once its done say, oh I dunno, 65,000kms anyway............ Like, it'd well be due for a strip & look-see at the clutch packs, reshim etc.........
