My bad - thought we were still talking std 328 vs std 540, not the bit where you were stroking it etc ......or entering a M3 into it as ya weren't buying one of those......hard to keep up with ya around here............ But yes - both are slow. What was it again that ya reckoned was quicker outa the BMW stable for the 4k ya wanna spend........?? Straight fast line is nooooooooooooo goooooood for ya anyway - Al's road has got at least 1 tricky corner / ditch in it........... Nah Graham, anything is on topic in here ae...........I'm starting to wonder bout a E36 motor/box transplant into a E46 - how quick would that be?? As an eg of topic - yea, nah, I dunno, I think that $1200 option on yr turbo sounds not baaad.........the newer technology one might be 'better', but is dearer, & probably just adds bit extra loading maybe on the motor that's done 320,00km.......

I think 'Up North' came out with that gem coupla pages back - you counted with what the 540 0-60 time is from memory.......... Or some-one did......... Times nearly up on him buying something, he reckoned 2 weeks............ He's probably on a Merc forum too, talking bout C200's, & occasionally just to get their attention he'll be going "Bro, I'm thinking bout a 328i......."...... Or are we at the 330 now........haha!!

Well yes, given that a 328i is better than a 540 around corners, & faster in a straight line, then yea, a 328iMS is definitely gonna be just as good as a M3 around corners too - only difference is those funny little $4.95 badges that ya can get on reTardeMe anyway................ True.......^^^^^ I think it'd be fair to say E36's have become a bit stereo-typed here too generally - still quite a few nice ones around though that haven't been 'boganised'....... I like 'how' the guy writes, don't necessarily agree with what he's saying though..........

Absolutely agree Jason...............with what you're saying on being first on scene, & first aid course - it's also one of the reasons all my vehicles have first aid kits & at least 1 x fire extinguisher in them.....& my personal opinion is both should be a mandatory requirement in ALL light vehicles....

Whoever it was at BMW NZ that ordered our 540's without cruise control, should have been made to drive a 518 as a company car.........mighta made them reflect on how flash an idea it was to have THAT as a NZ spec too........
