  1. As some of you may know my blue turbo'd e30 got wrecked 2 or 3 years ago now.

I have been chipping away at a rebuild slowly as i get motorvation. I started fresh with a new f/l shell thanks to dave, stripped it right back to a bare shell with only interior lume untouched.

I swapped alot of parts over from my old body and modifyd pretty much everything including notching the rear subframe to tuck exhaust up higher of the ground.

Will post up some pics and a rough list of things i have done to it soon.

Iv finished doing repair/body work and im doing the last of the primer prep for paint atm, should be all painted in new colour by the end of queens b/day weekend.

Iv gone away from the blingy look i had with my blue e30 IPLEZR, and gone for a more tough staunch look overall with this build

  2. Most people who do this conversion get everything custom made. And use an aftermarket ECU that does not require most of the orginal loom from the motor.

hmmm its called custom, custom and more custom.

trial and error really, there has been a few done now including mine and they have all been done differently.

research and asking questions will help, lots of questions haha

  3. nice, yeah looks good, funny how they are so alike tho. I like the brake conversion you have done, very nice

your talking about the booster in cabin?? yea pretty simple and works mint to. would recomend doing it that way but not if you like the glovebox space lol

Hey scott, try www.bmw2002.com and look into getting the rear camber/toe adjusters to get square up you rear end. Also some coilovers with a decent spring rate might help the 'squat.' I noticed at skidfest the ass end looked like it was trying to hug the ground. Putting more strain on the halfshaft c/v's.

I know you like it low and changing to 5 stud etc will not really help to much, you need to get those halfshafts running as square as possible or they just keep going :D

yea skidfest was a joke, i havnt been thru cvs so fast b4, they lasted longer at nightspeed drags and i gave it more sh*t there....

yea the whole rear is changing not just the stud pattern so bigger axils bigger everything but i know exactly what you mean tho. and yea iv sussed some coilovers with different spring rates availible that im going to import in also. those springs i have in the rear are way to soft, it doesnt even handle how it used to but they have been compressed so ...... thanks tho ill check out that site bro :D

  4. ok, my 95 320i manual just blew its 3rd diff in a couple of years and im starting to get pissed off. i have little mechanical knowledge but gather that its a small case diff wheras 323i, 325i 328i have medium case diffs. is it worthwhile and how easy would it be to upgrade to one of these? is there anyone selling an LSD fo e36 which would be stronger?

piece of piss mate, i should know i go thru them alot hahaha.

may need to change back plate but thats also simple. matter of dropping the small case and putting med case in, same mounts.

i have a med case sitting around that im not going to use but its not a lsd

  5. Exactly what drifty said aye, i have had no worries with mine at all, they certainly are bigger than the 318 and 320 ones!

I have the puk clutch etc also and she hasnt failed me yet, but it still is early days and there is more horse's to come yet..

Thanks for the comments aye, and wil keep progress posted and i hope to have the old girl back on the road in a couple of weeks. so look out for me you NP boys and we will catch up.

Would be keen to see some pics of your car 'IPLEZR'

i have pics here if you want to have a look? http://www.bebo.com/IPLEZR

  6. hey bro, i gotta quesion for you...

how is the rear end holding up on your car? i think its just the 5puck clutch setup with the 750kg nismo pressure plate i have thats causing me to go thru cvs etc like butter but just curious.

i seem to be the only one realy going thru this problem haha.

looks nice and staunch bro im realy liking it ay

  7. ok... thanks for all the input, seems i have a bit to think about now.

what i ment by the whole not liking the 4 stud is this... more range of 5stud wheels that suit e30 than 4 stud, at better price, i keep spitting cv's out like tooth picks (yea some coz of my driving but also do take car down the strip and want to race it alot)

diffs iv used have all been open diffs not lsd (one welded up) so smashing the crap out of the spider gears. yes it will be down the strip a fair bit once done (again) and it usually breaks while doing skids hitting 2nd or 3rd.

havnt broke a axil as of yet just cv's and diffs.

and it may not sound like much but 1st time loosing licence after driving for 6 years, not bad compared to my mates lol. not bragging just stating.

will ask more questions when i am on next thanks :)

im wondering what major mods to chassis etc needed to be done for the modified e28 subframe? im a panelbeater by trade so may be able to do some or know who can for cheap

  8. E36 front & E36 ti rear, is the easiest & cheapest.

    Q. Why are you going 5 lug?? That will give a better indication of what to go for.

reason for going 5 stud is ill be pushing over 400hp at the wheels by the end of this year and dont like the 4 stud.

(lost my licence so time to save up and make it go hell fast haha)

i know about the e36ti rear end but im interested about the e36 front end, can you explain more please :)

  9. haha my mate thought it wud be funny to stretch a space saver 14" tire onto a standard 14" steelie rim, massive stretch, took bout half an hour to do but looked insane. dont think he put it on a car to skid or not but yea, i herd it chews out the sidewalls alot faster than it normally would
