  1. and before u push the head unit in fully before you can't touch behind it, try and make sure the plastic from the wiring looms/harness is on the left hand side so it makes it easier to slide the wiring down.
  2. 60$ each that sounds very reasonable. yea i saw behind my current cloth its all brown dust particles now aye. Hopefully i can find a place n the north shore that does something like that
  3. Good work. If its still not sitting flush. remove the obc unit and the wires for the stereo are behind there. With mine i pulled down gently while sliding it further in and it seemed to work perfectly.
  4. thanks for the quick response. At the moment i've managed to get half of it off slowly. By pullng and sticking a blade behind cutting it apart slowly.
  5. Atm im trying to separate the door cloth panel from the actual door panel. Is there anyway To do this properly or will it just take time and patient, carefulness not to break it?
  6. decided to install a proper alarm nw but just lookign to see if i can find if my car was prewired. According to lots of sites i've looked at even tho i don't have a button in the boot saying it was prewired, my car should have the 12pin harness somewhere as most places say that cars after 92 had them. as we have rhd in nz would it be under the glovebox or under the steering wheel? atm i've taken both sides apart to have a quick look but no obvious sign of one.
  7. managed to get it out after all with some patient and a long screw driver cheers
  8. Just had a look under my glove box to see if my car was prewired for an alarm but i dn't see any connectors. I checked my boot but don't see any stickers or anything indicating it was prewired. Aren't jap imports prewired?
  9. guess i'll wait til my dad gets home to see what tools hes got. Doesn't like it when i go prowling through his tools as i tend to forget to put somethings back sometimes:p
  10. Hi, Currently trying to remove my glovebox to give it a very good tidy up but i can't seem to get at the last screw. in this image http://www.bmwe36blog.com/image-viewer.php...lovebox/image01 it would be screw F that i am unable to remove due to the angle and the door of the glove box? Anyone got advice on how to get it out?
  11. Hi guys looking to install a basic keyless entry system into my bmw. had a quick search on the forum Link. Will the wires be the same colour? and also will be installing something similar to this. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-253428463.htm also i've noticed that some cars maybe need a addition acculator or something for the central locking to work?
  12. very nice stealth setup so far:D just put in my new head unit today also. Took a while as there wasn't much room behind the head unit so the wires were jamming against the back. I found that when i took out the obc unit and while i was slotting it into the space, u pull down gently on the wires behind the obc unit which in fact are for the headunit. just a little advice that mite help if u have the same problem. also probably need to get an amp to run the front speakers as my fronts are considerable lower than the rears maybe due to the fact that its running tweeters and speakers off the head unit so not enough power running to them.
  13. okay. thanks for the info. will be getting a set of 4" speakers soon

ohh my family has like the same boat except the 605 version of it haha.
  15. did u have to mod the speakers by getting rid of 2 of the screw holes? because the original ones in there only have 2 screw holes for the speakers as it is?
  16. I had the same problem on my primera. failed last month, " steering rememdy play r/h" took it to my local mechanic and $150 later it past. Didn't actually know what they did but i will assume just replaced some parts? so i guess it may cost u a bit more for the bmw.
  17. decided that im gna drill into the metal and mount them from the bootside.
  18. Just wondering if it is possible for me to somehow fit a 5.25 speaker into those. Im guessing they are currenty 4" ones in there?
  19. yea probably will end up doing the latter option. i'll sort it out once i get my head unit. cheers
  20. Smith and Smith North Shore in wairau park did a good job on my primera. No leaks, very tidy. Guess it depends on what mood the person is in when doing it lol
  21. Just installed some new 5.25 speakers in my bmw. But i think that when the speakers actually get running the middle part of the speakers may come into contact with the kick panels... what problems will this cause? Haven't actually got my headunit yet to test it but i just wanna know if i should make some modifications.
  22. thanks for the info mark. has cables under the dash to plug it in. so mite as well.. although that beep can be annoying sometimes
  23. hmm oh well guess its doing no harm i'll just leave it as it is.
  24. hmm i wasn't aware that my car ever had an alarm? could be...
  25. Cleaning out my car not and cleaning as much of the interior panels that I can just to get the car looking clean again and found this thing i assume its like a speaker but im not sure what its for. Under the steering wheel.
