  1. personally i would go for a darkish grey. if you paint the whole rim i guess you could sand back the rim at a later stage? then attack it with autosol.

  12. SORTED! got her back. i called the finance company on monday and was told that the guy had an outstanding loan and they were about to start their process of contacting him etc. the old man then decided he wanted to have a friendly chat with the guy who sold me the car to try and straighten it out. the old man told him that he better have it all sorted out by tuesday and ring him at 10am otherwise he would arrive on the guys doorstep and sort it out from there. so on tuesday i got a call at 10am explaining that he was in the process of sorting his loan and removing the car as security and asking if i could call my old man and explain this to him as he was basically scared shitless of him. another phone call to me at midday from the guy confirming he had sussed it with the finance company, then at 8.30 this evening the car got dropped off at my house. what i learned from this experiance...... 1. always get a VIR done when buying a car 2. never trust anyone selling a car, always get an independant check 3. if it all turns to sh*t................................... call the old man.
  13. i would have thought that if it was used as security on a loan and was sold then the finance company should get in contact with the seller and agree upon something else as security or make the person put the money they got from the sale on to their loan. i got in contact with the guy i brought it off and he says he rang the finance company because the loan has been settled and that i should be getting the car back next week. all i can do is wait till monday and ring the finance company to confirm if this is true or not.
  14. its just been a big hassle from the day i brought it, but i thought i would stick with it and try and get it up to spec and end up with a mint car. the old mans gonna get in contact with his lawyer on monday and go through the finer details. at this point im extremly gutted and cant do anything about it.
  15. car went about 15minutes after the repo man came. i wasnt even allowed to take out anything attached to the car as i couldnt prove it wasnt in the car when i brought it. my sub, amp, brand new steering wheel and momo boss kit.
  16. my exciting morning this morning i got an official knock on my door, i opened it and it turned out to be a repo man who said he has to repo my car. at this point i was thinking that i dont owe anyone any money or have any debts. apparently the guy i brought it off wrote it down as security against a loan he got out and has not paided off his loan. basically there is nothing i can do. myself and a mate went round to his place this afternoon to see what his story was but he wasnt home so we left him the cover sheet off the wad of paperwork i got. we circled the amount he owes and stated that my car got repo'd and he better pay now. any suggestions? basically i think im just going to have to wait and see what unfolds. if he doesnt pay the finance company will offer me a estimated price of what the car is worth for me to buy it back, if i decide not to buy it they will auction it off. what a great weekend
  17. was checking round the car the other day and noticed the auto tranny fluid was low so this arvo i topped it up. this evening i went for a drive on the motorway to give her a good run and noticed it was smoking. i quickly took an off ramp and pulled over to see what was going on. i had a look under the car and there were spots of tranny fluid on the ground, so i made my way home. when i got home i looked under the car again with a torch and found more spots of fluid on the driveway and a sh*tload of fluid over the exhaust and underside of the car which was smoking as it was burning off on the hot exhaust. is there any common reason for the tranny to be leaking? does this sound like it would be a major repair job? where to start? if the tranny fluid was overfilled would it leak like this? help......
  18. dont have an owners manual. but i been told to go for a drive for about 15mins then park and leave the car running. whilst running put foot on brake and cycle through the gears, stopping in each gear for a moment, then check the level. then turn the car off and add trans fluid then do the same again till the correct level is reached. does this sound right? do i fill it up to the top grey line on the dipstick?
  19. is it safe etc to top up my auto trans fluid untill i can sort out to get it flushed? around how much would i be looking at to get my trans flushed?
  20. got pics of the evo r's including the damaged one? come with tyres?

  22. momo one from mag and turbo is setting me back $120, but they had to order it from wellington as they dont keep them in stock. as i said in my first post, autoquip on dominion road supply repco and should have the right one in stock that you need for the same price as you paid, but it may pay to ring and find out.............. Autoquip Marketing 381-385 Dominion Road, Mt Eden P.O. Box 56-522, Auckland New Zealand Phone: (09) 6300944 Fax: (09) 6306407
  23. i had the same trouble about two weeks ago. i brought a hkb boss kit from repco for my 90 e30 and it was wrong, so i went down to autoquip on dominion road and picked up the right one. the guy there said they supply repco and that they may have ordered in the wrong model for the listing they have. since then my hkb boss kit is pretty much f#cked and is falling apart so i went into mag and turbo and got them to order in a momo one, should arrive on monday.
