  1. Economy eh? Get a rota. I crack myself up. Good luck with the search.
  2. Delete this & I'll kill your baby.

  3. Welcome. I only come on here around once every year so I'm like a new member every time I sign in. Agreed, show us the pics...

  5. Insurance has come to my rescue in the past but I hate the idea of my premium going up because some spinless little dickface & his mongrel mates & their silly made up pretend gang have decided it would be "ruthless" to break into my car. I'm all for the idea of setting traps around the place. You know, tripwire shotguns, swinging logs & pits with sharpened bamboo stakes to skewer the little bastards. I haven't had any trouble with my car since I became ultra vigilant (vigilant = violent in this instance). Just an idea. From experience, police tend not to put much effort into anything that doesn't yield an easy speed camera fine or the like but you might be lucky.

215/35/19s on 9" wide rims in the front and lipped and flared guards is basically it. Has 235/35/19s on the back and have never had a problem with rubbing. It has shortened bilsteins all round for whoever asked. Could have something to do with offset, you'll have to play around a bit. One of the deals you buy into with the cert is that there's no wheel or tyre contact with body panels so spent ages trying to get it right!
  7. No good pics unfortunately. I'm due for a cut polish so I'll take some when it's clean. This is an old one of it cooling down after a thrash through country roads so coated in dead things!

I'm with the keep it low kids on this. There are other purposeses to lowering other than for cosmetic value. You'll end up with a lower centre of gravity and if you use the right springs/shocks combo, you'll have better handling. You just have to see to it that you don't f**k up your suspension and steering geometry which is a killer. If you're after the look and you're not into shelling out unnecessary coin then go with springs & maybe shocks. There's no point spending millions if you're not going to get it back. Below are a few pics of my old E30, my last E36 and my current E36. Current car is 55mm at the lowest structural point and in fairness is a prick to drive round town. After countless hours trying different things I've got the handling sussed so it is possible.
  9. I'm not new, just haven't posted in over a year due to slackness mainly. Probably a lot of new members by now so hi everyone. Car's back on the road after several extended periods off the road getting stuff done so happy to be back behind the wheel.

    New Whip

I wouldn't worry about comments like that. Their opinions are invalidated by their own stupidity. It's angry at you and your car because they're driving a wagon full of screaming kids round syndrome and you'll get it all the time. It's your car, enjoy it. Have you measured it off the ground? Looks nice & tastefully done.
  11. "Was at the laser light show at Smales Farm in Takapuna last night with the kids when this E36 came in making all sorts of noise, practising his race starts etc, etc. He had "Shalow" on the plate which summed him up pretty well I thought. Not to sound like an old fart coming down on the "boy racer", (this one was riced up), but if you know the guy, or it's you, keep it to the track and not in a place where there are plenty of families around with young children. Santa had just arrived and my 4 year old was going nuts, so I had enough trouble keeping him under control without you around. I've done some dumb things on the road in my time, and I'll be the first to admit it, but it was generally when there was no one else around and the chances of anyone getting hurt were pretty low. Those that know me would hopefully class me as pretty tolerant. Anyway, that's my rant for the day. Have a good Chrissy everyone and see you in the new year. Jocko " Well well well. An entire thread all about me! I'm honoured. No really, I am. As previously stated by other members on the initial thread, the car can be difficult to drive in traffic (such as a full carpark full of light show viewers) due to the nature of the clutch and yes, the car may be slightly louder than standard so you can be forgiven for taking note of us as we made our entrance to the light show which, might I add we fully enjoyed. Due to the gear ratios and the lack of slip in the clutch it's virtually impossible to travel at speeds below about 10 kph. I do however make a point of watching where I drive especially in crowded Christmas spirited gatherings full of kids so let me assure you, your kids were in no danger! As for the unnecessary "rice" comment, each to their own. I prefer my car to keep as close to the factory appearance as possible. It came with all the Motorsport goodies from factory. The only features asthetically altered are the ride hight and the 19" wheels. If you considder that ricey then that's fine. I didn't build the car specifically to please you. If I was unable to have pity on you for the lack of enjoyment you seem to get from cars, I would have nothing but contempt for you. I think Bimmersport as a community would benefit from staying away from stupid threads complaining about the actions of other members. We've all read the rules. Merry Christmas.

    PINK MY RIDE

Haha cheers, not pinkied anymore It's a 325i manual with all the usual motorsport goodies-LSD etc. Previous owner did all the engine work so don't know too much about it. I know it's basically as close as you'll get 2 3.0 L which is kinda different. I kinda started out with the idea I wanted it to be low so it suits me down to the ground!

    PINK MY RIDE

I think it means you can't just hit them with a blowtorch while they're still in the car lol. We were down @ Pauanui over newyears whoever asked... cheers. Question: if you have say a 19" wheel with a 235/35 tyre on one side and a 18" 235/40 (spare) will it chew the sh^t out of an LSD if driven on for a while? I'm talking difference in rolling radius here.

    RJ's new ride

Hey mate, looks mint. Even engine bay looks immaculate which would indicate it's been looked after. JDM oil changes are fairly rare!!!! Wheels etc. suit it perfectly. Nice choice. Who are you using for certification????

    PINK MY RIDE

Thanks for your opinion. My advice would be don't drive like a retard. I've had no problems with front bumpers etc. Some of us apreciate good handling characteristics even if it does mean sacrificing a degree of daily drivability. All good if you like standard cars. Each to their own. Jammaster James, I like the way you think Funniest thing I've seen on this site yet :thumb:

    PINK MY RIDE

martyyn Posted Today, 09:25 PM So is the car legal or not ? If not then I dont see what you have to complain about being shopped by Pitstop and the tyre place. If its not safe get it off the road....end of story. Mate, are you serious? I don't considder the legality of customers cars any of their concern and calling the cops is as unprofessional as it gets. We all know there are holes in the LTSA legislation and I'm sure there are more than a few ppl on this site who own cars that wouldn't be 100% legal. I'd be stoked if I'd saved any of you the piss around that comes with pink/green stickers. For the record, it's lowered on professionaly compressed and re-tempered eibach springs which are captive and under load and it's had new shocks to match these. There's some mint cars on this site and it's always better to see them on the road...

Hey everyone. Never posted a pic of the car but here it is complete with the latest mod (pink sticker). A big thanks to Pitstop Newmarket and Frank Allen Tyres Quay St. for notifying the police :banghead:

    3.73 Diff

[How much ya lookin at for it bro? I see a potential locker!] If anyone's handy with welding gear, I've got a small case E30 diff for FREE! No idea of condition. I don't want anything to do with it.
  22. [if you cut your springs your banned] Why not just get rid of them? Springs are over rated anyway! :bounce:
  23. This whole topic scares me! I had 225/35/18s on my last E36 now I've decided to up the ante with some 19"s but it sounds like it's going to be a headache. Anyone know if you can get 30 series 19"s I've never seen lower profile than 35mm...
