The car didn't start 3 weeks ago, and now it has occured twice more. After pulling the fuel hose before the fuel rail (I didn't jump the relay for fuel flow test), the car started nicely with the fuel hose disconnected. After the 2nd time it didn't start, I did the same thing but with no luck, and after changing the fuel filter....it started.
2 days ago, car didn't start again. I put in a new pump today just in case (I know it's bad to throw parts into a unproperly diagnosed issue) as after some reading, the only two things that came up were fuel pump issues, or the fuel pressure regulator was shot (fuel pump was the cheaper of the 2, and mine was old)
Check list:
Spark: good
Fuel pump and relay: good (new pump put in 30th Nov)
Temp sensor, engine pulse/crank sensor: good
Vacuum lines and intake gaskets: good
Since pulling fuel lines made the car start, I'm now thinking its the fuel pressure regulator causing the issue, or a blockage in the fuel return line. The fuel return line right before the fuel pump had very poor flow rate (around 1/3 or 1/4 of the pump flow).
The car ran briefly when I cranked it with now fuel pump. The common factor with all 3 starts after a "no-start" was the absence of pumped fuel.
Would love to hear anymore feedback on my gremlin chase (getting pretty ticked off about it). It's either on a tow truck off to Glenns or stumbling there haha
edit: updated progress with the BS cut out, coz now i'm just annoyed at it

cheers for the headsup Jason, tried it with PROMA MBL8 added, and it was as good/even better than the more expensive Fuch CFX 15w40 (idled smootther), based on feels alone haha

Gavin @ hi velocity comes to mind. What ECU are you running?

what about metal epoxy putty? although a weld sounds better

it was AJ's (boss @ Pitstop Grey Lynn and Albany). Not quite sure about the motor itself, and i don't have further info on it, sorry.

awesome build, would go great with a good tune.
Michael, tune yours also

Why replicas are not a good idea...
Disintegration under impact:
Leads to this:
prob one nasty as pothole. makes you think whether some of the more "expensive" replica's are better quality than the cheaper ones
-
use the 2nd ustream link, better stream and more pixels for definition , but have an ad blocker, otherwise interrupts continuous streaming.
the vipbox is lower quality, a bit choppy, but its continuous stream without ad breaks

I bought a pintle and o-ring kit on eBay for $20 and got six injectors cleaned and refurbished for my old 528i for $25 each at Edgell on the North Shore. My regular mechanic said he can do for the same price for my V8. About the same price and I won't have to wait for them to go to and from the US.
+1 for Edgell, they don't muck around and give great feedback about the injectors

the disconnected screw end hose + plug is for emmissions canister? iirc
the stalling might be a dirty throttle position sensor (oil plus other goop goes in from the bottom of the throttle butterfly pivot). also, check idle control valve, it should make a "click" sound when the key is turned from off to the 2nd ON position (before cranking), and another "click" when you pull the key out (idle valve opening/closing). plus give it a good clean

nice headtorch

Looks like a knockoff

Is that Storage 66? I thought it was a nightclub now......alot of development by that "Rock n Rolls" Phantom guy
-
thanks for sharing, great watch!

Are your shocks shortened atm? H&R 6cyl race springs are just captive, and Jamex Superlows are around 3cm shorter, and "softer" iirc, might be worth a look.

I would go coilovers but they're illegal in e30's now (even after you weld them you still cant get cert), and im not converting to e36 setup.
anymore info on this? or reasoning behind it?

Hey man, got a 12 spline one with 12mm pilot bearing shaft (will double check tonight). PM me if you want to borrow, or ask autoclutch in morningside if you wanna buy one.

Orsome work man!!

spotted your car several times opposite Woolf's on Dominion Rd, i think it looks good as is. IMO, with dark coloured centres, you might lose the detail of the weaves.

Hey guys, my radiator just shat itself at end of trackday, any recommended places to get a new one, apart from forums sponsors and milland etc?
Thanks
What'd you do to your BMW today?

cheers guys!
The "RS's" are reps. I thought they were 15x7 et15 (from Mag and Tyre Direct), but certifier measured them as 15x7.5.
Tyre options (i.e selection and price) were the main influences for my decision to stick to 15's.
