You can remove covers, when it has issue use multimeter and check volts at back of switch, you will find its below 9v. A multimeter is $15 at repco, best investment -
Dont do trans flush, its not good for older trans, tend to find a high percentage of trans failures about 6 month after change, also this will notfix your issue, you could try shudderfix, but likely if its grinding, the lockup clutch is f**ked
