  1. Sweet! Might get some H&R sport springs .. I am planning an ocean shipment from UUC so can pick up heavy parts for cheap shipping. Also getting anything decent locally is tough!
  2. Righto. No problems! Anyone else?! I'll keep this open for a little while but I want my bits too so don't want to wait too long!!
  3. UPDATED: I've split the shipment because of some delays with some out of stock parts, which means that there will be a second box for stuff!! So again, if anyone is interested, please drop me a PM. Some people have already received some parts as they wanted to pay a little more for air freight (just a set of head studs), and all the springs should be on their way via sea (damn boats!) Cheers!! Anyone browsed the UUC website and dreamed of a wishlist, only to have their dreams crushed by the shipping costs? Well have no fear, I am ordering something of significant size from UUC (maybe, probably, definitely) and organising some tricky shipment by ocean. There will be a bit of a wait for the parts (potentially 6-8 weeks), but at least you won't be paying more in shipping than the actual part you ordered!! Plus, you get some breathing room to save and pay off that credit card/mortgage/buying-your-left-kidney-back. Check out their products here: http://store.uucmotorwerks.com/uuc/articles/main.htm Prime time to order things like brake rotors and other silly heavy things. Let me know what takes your fancy and I will see what the all up price will be factoring in the fraction of shipping, handling, customs (special deal with customs) and then delivery right to your door! Thanks! UPDATE: ORDER HAS BEEN PLACED. DUE TO STOCK REQUIREMENTS, WE STILL HAVE TIME TO ADD PARTS TO THE ORDER IF THE PART IS IN STOCK. SEND ME A PM!!! Update 2: Can source from other suppliers potentially! Give it a shot! Ask for quote HAMMER HAS BEEN DROPPED! Order has been placed. But there is a final call. Due to getting all the stock together and logistics, I can still add parts to the order for approximately another 14 days (if your part is in stock of course). So ... if anyone had any hesitation thinking I wasn't going ahead with it, you can be assured that a big box is coming this way with a lot of fine goods and its your chance to jump on the wagon! Anything heavy .. brake rotors, springs, etc, you want to pick up now! Example: factory floating OEM rotors will run you $700NZD for a front pair locally One piece plain rotors (generic brand) will run you $330NZD for a front pair locally not including shipping One piece slotted or drilled rotors from UUC will be $370NZD including shipping to your door. Don't get me started on H&R springs .. I talked to various H&R distributors in NZ, it would take 7-8 months to get them shipped from Germany for a M series car just because they don't hold stock. I can get springs into NZ and on your doorstep from $420-$450NZD in 6-8 weeks.
  4. Yep trying to source some H&R sport springs which should put the ride at the proper height .. Maybe about 25mm under factory Don't want to go too low but 25mm should not mess with the suspension geometry too much!!
  5. with the potential that the 335 or any x35 engine holds, I have great hopes for the forced induction heading of the new BMW m series.
  6. Hahaha, Keith at GeorgeStocks can custom make/match some King Springs (which they run in their racecar) for the same price as H&R springs, the only thing is that I will need to provide to them a front spring from an evo sedan and a rear spring as well for them to match spring rates etc. The other option is to go with the H&R springs. It is definitely riding high if your measurements from rim bottom is correct .. Keith from George stock mentioned that usually the measurements are done from the wheel hub centre which I had also thought, however measuring from a known rim diameter would be as static as measuring from the centre hub. Will go try find some H&R springs, or a front and rear standard evo spring for Keith to match. If anyone has a standard e36 m3 rear spring and a front evo m3 spring, would be greatly appreciated if I could borrow them for a few days! George Stock will measure, test and find the right springs to match.
  7. you can pick up an e30 for $2,000NZD Of course it may not be the best condition, but if you have time and the will, you can restore it to a nice condition
  8. haha yep, well if anyone needs a private jet interior or happens to own a commercial airline and needs a new interior, then I can hook you up that, or any repairs to commercial aircraft (jet) in new zealand ... lol.
  9. Good sport to Connor for coming out! hope he enjoys the beer and other nifty gifties I had around !! Love the bimmersport community just that much more
  10. here are the measurements. going from FR to RR to RL to FL
  11. goodbye high displacement v8s, v10s etc. The glory days are over. I'm a fan of forced induction for sure .. its cheap, economical power .. but there will always be that n/a noise which is glorious. That being said, high compression turbocharged is the way of the future (besides electric cars). It's what I run in my race car .. great response, great power even off boost and you can spool a stupid large turbo faster than you think. Waiting to see Mercedes and Audi response to the BMW shift to forced induction. Will Audi go back to 2.7L twin turbo V6? Mercedes have already created the C43AMG which is a truly AMAZING engine, check it out, highest power output from a production 4cyl 2L turbocharged engine .. something like 360hp or more ..
  12. you can pick up an e30 bmw for quite cheap nowadays .. would be a nice daily car during your studies here. The next meet is this coming weekend at Kyus cafe in Penrose. http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/49568-auckland-monthly-coffee-and-cars-meet/ Depending where you stay, you may be able to get a ride from someone who is passing close to you on the way to the meet .. The culture here is a bit more mature than some other car clubs in NZ. Granted that usually the purchase price of BMWs and European cars are higher than Japanese cars, and also maintenance costs are higher as well means that the general level of maturity is a little higher than your average import car club. Most/all of us really love our machines, and keep them legal and tastefully modified. Many of the members are older than your average 'young boy racers' and own great new machines, new M3s, M5s, 335s, restored e30s etc. This is all a generalisation though! We've had some silly things done on some of our meets but we're trying!
  13. Hi! Welcome, Love the shot of your car with the lightning in the background. Was that a rare shot? Or did you edit it in? You have very good editing skills~~!! What sort of equipment/software are you using? Here Bimmersport we have a few meets coming up, so definitely feel free to come along and join us .. do you have transport? there shouold be a gathering of some of us next sunday! I am sure many members would love to have your editing skills used on some of their photos~!

  17. yeah I'm going through internet withdrawal. tremors and suicidal idealisation.
  18. Hey mate, Yep, have checked using 3 modems, and even bought a brand new shiny TPLink modem. In the past I've had some problems with the house wiring, and had an electrician come and disconnect all the other phone jacks since I will never use a landline. The ISP guys came out and said it's all good on their end .. the hardware is brand new on my end .. the only variable is then the wiring Thanks for your reply though
  19. Hi just a stab in the dark Any electricians in here? Or people who have experience with house phone wiring?? My naked DSL has stopped working and my ISP has sent people but they say its not on their end. The DSL won't connect so they think its something on my house end!! I'm in the Mt Roskill area in Auckland .. Any sparkies want to help a brother out or do a cash/beer job?? Thanks!!
  20. I will measure with a builders tape and measure both sides and average to account for any non level surface but my work carpark is pretty level .. Koni will be next on the list!! Thanks everyone for their input. Info to come
  21. What brand springs would you recommend? Something with maybe a 25 to 35mm drop.. Thanks mate!

Fortyone can bring in some neat stuff but its not cheap!!
  23. Link is just to some sport springs by H&R. Says a 25mm drop for the m3 Evo
  24. It should have evo m3 suspension in there already! Was looking at these springs. seem cheap .. http://www.vividracing.co.nz/h_r_sport_springs_bmw_e36_m3_3_2l_96_99_1013460297.php
