sh*t Thai food. Man there is a very fine line between excellent Thai food and terrible Thai food.
There is a racist joke that could be made here...

I think I timed heading in and leaving Wellington just right, there was only the normal traffic on the way in and next to nothing coming home.

The Lady or the car?Saw a nice silvery e30 318is coupe with a mtech2 spoiler on the harbour bridge. Old bloke driving, younger lady in the passenger's seat. Looked utterly lovely. Anyone from here?

Sorry if this is the wrong topic.
What can people tell me about e30 b pillar rust? I'm looking at buying an e30 and it failed a WOF because of this rust. Any ideas if it would be fixable or terminal?
Thanks

"Get away from your wife.... also comes with 2 whores"...
I wonder what his wife would say

Who me, a speculator!! Really Jon -
Have had mine since 2009 and has been on the road for 2 years after a 4 year rebuild which was 2 years longer than it should have been. The rise in value has been spectacular, now triple what I paid for it. Just don't ask me what I spent.
Target now is a genuine 320is ex Italy - could be a pipe dream though.
A 320is would be pretty sweet. More power than a 325i and presumably less weight.

That is a very nice car. Would be cool to see in action

Only in NZ, a Sport Evo is a world wide collectors car with different rules in many countries.
Pretty sure the rules in NZ are not so tough now, compared to when it was brought in, quite a few old and new LHD vehicles around on the roads now.
Yes, correct, originality is a big factory in the market price. However, the changes are not that hard to convert back to stock. The cost of doing that would be much, much less than the potential increase in market value IMHO. As Ashmill has mentioned, E3 prices are off the chart right now, there is one on Piston Heads for GBP110k, work that out in NZDs...
The last recent import 2.3 M3 I saw that popped up on TradeMe was listed at $55k, not sure if it sold though, it hasn't re-appeared.
Different owner from 8 years ago. I know he has spent a lot of time, effort (and $$$s) on the car while it has been in his ownership.
As for the M3 "DTM" race car that Dan has linked, what is the current market value for two small children, a wife, a kidney and possibly one arm and one leg?? Am I getting close to the 130k Euro yet??
You need 2 arms and legs to drive a manual properly...

Something with an m67?
-
What are the wheels on it, I don't think I've ever seen them before?yeah interior is pretty good, and mechanically is very sound, yep genuine 318iS, M42 manaul etc.
Exterior has had better days for sure
But his AE86 is his baby, so not much spare change left for the the E30 after that

Black e30 with just an is badge (no numbers) and white turbo style wheels in Wellington this morning.
-
Why didn't they keep it stock...?
-
I just wanted to get people's opinion on if $500 for 4x 15" e30 basketweaves is a good price (i'm looking at buying, not selling). They are in reasonably good condition but don't have center caps. I would also have to pay shipping from Auckland to Wellington, which I assume is somewhere around $100.

I know this a year old... But you don't happen to still have these?

Well that was quick. Didn't even get time to convince my parents. Lol

I might be interested if dad will let me. Do you have any more photos of the damage? Does it run?
Thanks

For I would say 318is because if you care about fuel prices it's the best daily and it has a different engine to every other e30 whilst still being factory. It's also an is rather than just an IWhats the more desirable model....318is or 325se?
Have IS but would like SE
-
I think there are lots of 3L diesel engines, maybe be a bit more specific?hey guys day dreaming about future plans, has anyone put a 3.0l diesel in a e30? appart from the obvious problem of getting a cheap enough engine what would be required for the swap? obviously would want a manual gearbox aswell.

I know the VIN comes back as having a m30, but shouldn't that model year have an m90?
-
why does it jump from 1990 to 2000. bloody annoying
This makes looking for e30s really annoying (along with everything else on trademe, including the sellers
)

link appears to be no good for me
I assume it's this one?

it infuriates me, and people have changed too. I am not the only one and i know it.
you dont go into paknsave and take a box of weatbix up to the counter and find out what the price is. or even worse, say you want to pay $1, but they just give you no responce other than to say no. they have that magic $3.60 amount in thier head you just have to keep guessing.
Same reason Tender and Auctions I didnt even bother going to the open homes when i brought my last two houses. If you cant tell me the price, i am not interested in doing the spade work for something that has a 50% chance of wasting my time. there are enough deluded people with no idea of real value as it is.
mods please shift to rant thread. oh damn i am a mod lol
Good points. I'm just imagining a stuffed up world where you have to ask how much a box of weatbix is,
that would not be much fun.
The comments have gotten even more entertaining.

I guess it's all in the marketing. I've seen other SE's either not sell or go for much less, in those cases though the seller (and therefore probably most buyers) didn't actually know they had an SE!
For 10k though you may as well have stepped up to an m325i...
Life is choice bro thread.
