  1. Hi guys,

I got this from Jase a coupla months ago, and was going to try and put it into my 328i and anchor the Jatco. I dont know if they deliberately wired the car so that the conversion would be nigh impossible (anything is possible) but I thought it would be a bitch of a job just gettin the hua out without trying to pretty much re-loom the bloody thing, so I decided to work on the Jatco...

So that means I have Jase's old (but very good conditioned) ZF-5hp and peripheries.

If any of guys want to deal just PM me, I could do with a motorsport bumper or something of that nature, so if you think you may have something I may consider for my 328i coupe, please PM me.

    Chur.

Sorry have no idea how to do the link thing. I will also add my 2cents to the official jatco thread in the hope it may help someone.

    Dam, I sold my 5HP for $1000,

    Thats sooo cheep!!!

  2. Have this error message coming up on my OBC - I'm 99% sure it means replace brake pads however, they seem to have plenty of meat on them & I'm pretty sure they were replaced just before I bought it 3000km ago.

Is there any way of resetting the computer for it to re-calibrate? If I leave the car off for over an hour the error message keeps coming up.

    Cheers.

Check sensors, Located on front left and rear right wheel,

may have come out of the caliper, or worn through

  3. My car did not come with the oem alarm and i would like to put one in, However i don't think mine is pre-wired for it, Everything i have seen in relation to putting an oem one in mentions the holder in the headliner for the motion sensor but mine has nothing in the headliner at all, Does this mean that mine may not be pre-wired for the alarm, is there anywhere else i could check without having to pull everything apart to find this out.

I do currently have the auto dimming mirror with clown nose for remote locking/unlocking.

Mongoose make a "Over the top" alarm, so you still use your factory key remote, then is senses this, and arms and disarms to suit, 5 star systems, they work really well, and are very good quality, i have one in my 740i.

beeps when you push button on key to unlock/lock,

  4. Perfect answer.

Right, I just walked out and checked mine right now after a few weeks of driving around Auckland.

    10.8l/100

    10.8<11.2

    My Peugeot Diesel:

Around town: 6.7L per 100km (and i am heavy footed)

    Open road: 4.8 to 5.3 L per 100km

    My 740i

    Around town: 28.8L per 100km

    Open road : 11l per 100km

Haha now do you see why the diesel is my daily driver?

  5. Wasnt implying that there was any performance advantage , just what i was told !!

personally i would not have bought my car without the sport package as i think they look 100 times better than non Mspec bmw's.

My M-spec 328i has a different ratio diff to a non m spec.

Same as my old e36 320i m sport, different ratio diff.

  6. Century DIN 65 ZLMF (calcium)

Use a test light, Bulb style(not LED) and connected it to a earth, then hold it in pin 7 for 20 seconds, with the ignition on but vehicle not started.

e36 requires more current than an e30, so test light is a safe way to do it,

Also if you require a battery call 0800 supercharge.

Best batterys on the market, being fitting them for 5 years now, and never had one come back, 36 month warrenty

  7. I believe i may have the same problem... also the battery was pulled out of the back room and took the repco staff like 10 minutes to find it. So in my opinion it was deadstock battery too. THey had to look for the computer and search for it. I reckon the battery life time was at its end. Hence the problem with the battery. Which repco 100% ensures its not there fault.!! Really, I got independent tests from BMW, they found it 30% battery charge. Battery failed. Showed them this, the guys deny. Not our problem. 36 months repco warranty not really!.

Supercharge battery's are no doubt the best. starter motors are a common problem with the 328i, they are a denso unit and are cheap brand new through pan pacific, best place to start is pulling the exciter wire of the starter and check if it is getting voltage when the key is in crank position.....

  8. All 2009 Specs

    Holden R8 = 550Nm at 4600rpm (6.2-litre V8)

    Holden SV6 = 350Nm at 2900rpm (3.6-litre V6)

    Peugeot 407 2.7 Diesel = 440Nm at 1900rpm (2.7-litre V6)

    Peugeot 407 2.0 Diesel = 320Nm at 2000rpm (2.0-litre IL4)

All the new pugs diesels use a Porsche developed 6 speed tiptronic gearbox, and i can safely say it's a damm nice box to drive...

Haha, Not to far of eh? You should put up the fuel consumption specs to! That would be a laugh !!!

  9. Have had a a bad experience with S&S also...

Had my drivers window replaced as it had been smashed. When they took the door card of he broke 4 clips and bent it.. Wasnt very impressed.

After driving the car for the first time and used the window I heard what to me sounded like coins in my door.

Only to realise later that he hadnt vacuumed the glass out of the door.....

    My 2 cents worth <_<

sent it in for stone chip repair under insurance, came back with new cheap chinese windscreen without my permission,

They broke the bottom trim in my 740, then broke the rain sensor pad you could actually see it(reusing it), so no more auto wipers, they would not fit a genuine screen, as genuine screens come with pad,

Did not swap over my service sticker, and most importantly my mackas VIP sticker.

Anyway after about 3 weeks they replaced screen again, wipers have never worked on auto since,

Also fitted screen to my hilux, its great, when it rains you get a wet lap!!!!! Yeeee haaaa

Theres my review of Smith & Smith,

I have used novus a few times and they are fantastic, even got my car back cleaned/vaccumed!

  10. If you need a hand getting the car to the transporter, I can help if it's in Dunedin.

I had to pick my Pug up from Duneden, then drive back to Rotorua,

Cheapest transporter i could get was $1200, Oh also transporters only cover up to $1500 worth of damage, and they are very good at pushing floor rails in driving them on to there trucks at speed,

    I flew down,

All up inc airfares, for 2 people, fairy, fuel, food and accommodation for 5 days was about $1400,

And its sooooo soooo worth a holiday, south island is beautiful man,

  11. there arent any manual deisel pugs on TM(ok ther might be one)

I had to fly all the way to Duneden to get my Pug, In auto, It is 2004 so it has the adaptive box, it is better than a manual, Lol, lets not turn this into a auto/manual war though.

It changed down gears when approaching corners, or under braking, it adapts to your style of driving,

I think that auto is better in a diesel, but a BMW M3 should defnitley be Manual
