  1. Can anyone help me out as to what this little canister is on me M52? Its right next to the alternator stater motor. Does it connect up to the intake?
  2. Also Battery to boot kit for E30 Leather Door card caps e30 E34 throttle cable
  3. Sweet sounds about right. I've had a look through real OEM and google couldn't really find much on it. Thanks
  4. Does anyone know what the long bolt on the M52 Alternator is? I've lost mine. http://www.pelicanparts.com/BMW/techarticles/BMW-3-Series-E46/56-ELEC-Alternator_Replacement/images_small/pic16.jpg Cheers
  5. Does anyone have any of these before I order from the U.S.? or Know where I can get a pair from in NZ? I found a set of Polyurethane mounts specifically for the 24v swap I'm doing on my e30 from this web site http://www.euroturbo.nz/#!e30/c1pe1 Has anyone used them before? Wasn't sure I needed mounts quite as flash as them as I thought it could have been a bit over kill. Cheers
  6. Oh dear indeed.... Had no idea the M62 was such a piece of garbage. I wouldn't put another manufacturers motor inside anything it just seems wrong, maybe apart from a racing car or off road vehicle so thats out of the question. Some pretty good info there though, you guys sure know a lot about BMW engines. What is the safest bet to go for then? Something reliable enough but maximum capacity. Was going to get a bell housing adapter from ebay and fit an M50 gear box. Has anyone had any experience with that? (Hope that idea doesn't get poo pooed haha)
  7. Looking at giving my e36 a new Engine upgrade. Seen as the M62B46 and 48 are out of the question I was wondering if any one knows of a TUB44 for sale or how hard to come by they are and the general going rate for one.. Thanks

Dayyymm girl, that is a nice E38. Really cool colour too. Good luck with sale
  9. Oh goodness me, okay in my impetuosity I've over looked that detail. Just thought the M40 gear box would work no matter what. Thanks for setting me straight... Thanks heaps for the offer that's an awesome thing to do to get me out of the sh*t, However I think I will decline and find an e36 box that will fit then keep the M3 set up. Really appreciate the offer though. Cheers
  10. I think youve missed what I'm asking or maybe I worded it ambiguously. I've already searched and re searched on my issue. I've got an M40 gear box but its not fitting over my 240mm clutch and pressure plate.. I thought I had it all figured out until this problem. It seems only E36 gear boxes of any kind will fit over the 240mm M52-M3-E36 clutch/pressure plate. Thats what I was trying to confirm. I've been on e30 wiki and it doesn't really cover my problem. M42 gear box is great with an M20 flywheel set up. Theres people talking about grinding down the bell housing and all sorts. Bit barbaric but maybe it'll work. Has anyone even had this problem on these forums?
  11. Its just one of these man http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/bmw/gear-boxes/auction-1083838062.htm You interested? So what set up you running? 320i e30 Driveshaft, E36 Getrag 220 (modified linkages??), M50B?
  12. Need one for engine swap. If it has the shifter linkages that would be great. thanks
  13. I think all e36 box's will fit over the 240mm clutch set up but I was then wondering if I would need to slice up the drive shaft if I got one because of the different length. I knew an e30 m42 gear box would fit the swap so tried that and be right length for the 320i drive shaft but haha as I say won't fit over the e36 M3/M52 240mm clutch but was hoping someone would tell me what you just have. Thats awesome news so thanks. Was it difficult to find the 220 from an e36 and do you then need to change the rear diff? Because of the ratios? Also does the 320i e30 drive shaft fit the gear box flange alright? I wanted to go Medium case LSD on the e30 anyway Can anyone confirm this gear box will work with a 240mm clutch set up? The bell housing isn't deep enough on my e30 m42 box
  14. Need a flywheel/ flywheel clutch kit for m20. Preferably clean or machined. Cheers
  15. I'm just about finished my E30 M52 swapdoo, but have run into a bit of a cock up on my part! I purchased the 240mm m3 clutch and flywheel package from trade me which was quite a steep setup and I planned to use a M40 gear box.... So for those that already know, thats not going to work. I always had some suspicions it wouldn't go together as planned but its so hard to find an m20 fly wheel where I am so I thought f it and just got it. I'm thinking I either pull the fly wheel and clutch off and keep it aside/sell it. or Use an e36 box, and machine up a drive shaft to fit the e30/ cut the shifter parts down to suit. I need some advice on what to do, I'd like to keep the flywheel on the engine and use it for this swap but if its easier in the long run then i'll just a hole it, so is it very difficult to get an e36 box to work with an e30? Thanks
  16. Does anyone know where to get the rubber bit of hose that screws into the Clutch slave on the E30? (preferably not from over seas if possible) looks like this http://www.uucmotorw...LAVE_E36325.jpg Also bought a slave cylinder from repco but doesn't seem to have the rod in it. Does anyone know where to get the rod? Or is there anything I need to watch out for if I make one up? I'd probably need the measurement of one if anyone can help out. Thanks in advance http://ww2.justanswe...146_bleeder.jpg
  17. 'A' pillar trim panels? What colour are they? Need some other bits if need to make it worth your while. Can call you if you want. Cheers
  18. Ok thank you, will try him Monday.
  19. Sorry its a BMW e30 like in the pic. But its the opposite side to the picture as thats a left hand drive
  20. Hi, One of these: Scuffed my one up pretty badly getting dash out on the drivers side (RH). Would be excellent if someone has one lying around to sell, thanks.

  22. Ahhh! I actually stupidly thought they must have been cast or something so I didn't bother checking them out. Well that makes it pretty simple then. I thought my biggest dilemma would have been the bend from the mounts straight down because its like a 90degree. That really does make things a lot easier. Could even chop them up a bit to make extractors possibly. I'll show you how I get on, cheers.
  23. On the hunt for a Clio booster now. Got on the phone with some knowledgeable chap from Christchurch who told me about the hydro brake set up which runs off the power steering. I had no idea. Rebuilt or new OEM e32 booster would prbably cost an arm and a leg if I could find it so I'll go for a clio booster. Cheers
  24. I'm after some discussion regarding the easiest way of going about this. I was thinking of getting some stainless headers from ebay but might not have access to a TIG or stainless welding machinery so wanted to get something that would be right for the E30 off the bat. I know the steering knuckles and everything might make it a little awkward to fob up an exhaust in that area. Can anyone recommend a set of headers that don't need much fabrication? Also is there a recommendation for a muffler probably Remus flavored that give the m5X 6 cylinder a nice throaty deep tone but not overly boy racerish loud? Ive been checking videos out but there seems to be so many options you never know which price point you're getting into or how readily available they are here. Thanks
