  1. Hi all, I’ve just acquired a mint automatic E30 318 facelift coupe with a very ticky M40 and am wanting to swap in a m42 and Getrag 240 out of an E36 318. I understand the engine and gearbox bolt up to the M40 engine mounts/arms and I can use the loom and ECU from the E36. My question is regarding the prop-shaft and diff – Will either the e30 or e36 prop-shaft bolt in or will I need to source an E30 manual prop-shaft and am I correct in assuming that the E36 diff would be preferable? I’ve also read that I will need a E30is (M42) exhaust manifold – can anyone confirm if this is the case? I am also looking to do a coil on plug conversion from an M52, a AFM to MAF Conversion from an M44 and a single mass flywheel from an M20 as well as some sort of chip which is yet to be decided. If anyone has done this conversion and can offer some advice or knows of a donor car for sale that would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Shaun.
  2. PVC pipe and epoxy should do the trick
  3. Thanks Mate. I'll give them a call tomorrow.
  4. Hi all, I'm looking for recommendations for a mechanic in Auckland (central preferably) to work on my 1974 2002. I'm somewhat mechanically minded and can tackle the odd jobs my self but find my self without the tools/space/time when the old girl decides to get a bit temperamental. I'm after a shop/ one man band who either specialises in classic cars or at the very least knows what a carburetor looks like. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Shaun.
  5. Thanks Brent, What's the best way to get in touch?
  6. I'm after a long chrome bumper for my 1974 2002. The closer to Auckland the better but I can travel. Cheers.
  7. Cheers team, yup it's pastel blue
  8. Hi Everyone, I'm a long time BMW enthusiast and have finally joined bimmersport. I currently have a 1974 NZ New 2002 and have owned a few BMW's in the past including an E46 ETCC 'factory' race car, an E21 323 and a few E36s. Plans for the 2002 are to leave it standard(ish) and slightly lower it on a set of BBS RS's I am currently re-building. Cheers, Shaun.
