KW V2 Coilovers
SmackJackTheCrackerMan replied to SmackJackTheCrackerMan's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
I’m currently installing the front coilovers and I’m struggling to tighten the top strut nut. Looks like I need a 22mm strut nut socket, would anyone have one I could borrow for a couple of days for know anywhere in NZ I could get one? I can only find them in the US. Don’t really want to wait 😂 -
That’s was the look I was aiming for 😁
-
Yeah, sanded right back to the aluminium, 3 coats of etch primer, 3 coats of Acrylic gloss black wet sanded to 2000 w&d, 4 coats of 2k clear again sanded back to 2000 w&d. Then cutting compound, polished and waxed. I’ll be honest it took me nearly 2 weeks and I still haven’t finished the bits for the doors 🤦♂️

Lower shock mount
SmackJackTheCrackerMan replied to SmackJackTheCrackerMan's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Hi Jon, Really appreciate that! Once I get the old ones out, see what condition they are in I may take you up on that offer. I would imagine they are original to the car so would assume the worse. -
I painted the stainless steel interior pieces in a gloss back. Came out great, although it’s going to be a bitch to keep clean 🤦♂️

Hey! Does anybody know where I can get a pit of lower shock mints within NZ ASAP? 33526768544 I’m just about to start installing my coilovers and M3 control arms and I’ve realised that I missed the lower shock mount when I was ordering all of the replacement parts. Guess I’ll have to wait until next weekend now 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ Much appreciated

KW V2 Coilovers
SmackJackTheCrackerMan replied to SmackJackTheCrackerMan's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Spoke to the guys at Racer Products where I purchased them from, sent a couple of photos and the very next day got an email from them saying that replacement springs are on the way. Excellent customer service to be fair. -
KW V2 Coilovers
SmackJackTheCrackerMan replied to SmackJackTheCrackerMan's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Hey all, So my KW V2’s arrived today and looks like they have some damage to three of the four springs. Is this anything to worry about? I feel like I’ve paid good money for them so they should be prefect! What do you think??? -
CSF Race Intercooler install
SmackJackTheCrackerMan replied to SmackJackTheCrackerMan's topic in Performance
“Generic Chinese” how very dare you! 😜 There has been a tone of R&D put into this Intercooler for the N54 by CSF check out there website, and it wasn’t cheap, nor was it expensive. Seems like a good middle ground as the quality is brilliant. I managed to get it fit up eventually, the rubber seal was getting caught up which was causing the issue. Got it seated in the end. -

Thanks Matt, That kit seems way better. I think the M3 Arm upgrade will be on the cards later down the line. Did you have the full 11 piece kit? https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-m3-control-arm-upgrade-kit-e82-e88-e90-e91-e92-e93-bmwmcaktfr -

I’ve just ordered some KW V2 for my 2009 LCI E91 Touring and before they arrive I was going to order everything I can replace that would be reused while I’m installing. Would would be recommend? https://www.kwsuspensions.net/productfinder/BMW_3_Touring__E91__12_2004-12_2012_E91_335_i_Petrol_225KW_2979ccm_q8R5w*YjdXb1-0JxPrQvvQ~~/54/Coilovers/15220033

Hey all, I’ve just received my CSF Race Intercooler and what should be a “straight replacement” definitely isn’t, but it’s one hell of a bit of kit. https://csfrace.com/industry-best-bmw-n54-intercooler/ The issue I’m having after removing quite a bit of the intake duct is fitting the hot side charge pipe. I eventually got the cold side on with great difficulty, but I just can’t get the hot side on. It’s almost like the location nubs are off slightly. Any ideas? I’ve been at this on my back for a few days now and I’m getting a bald patch 😜 I’ve tried multi grips to try to turn it but there just isn’t the room. Any advice will be much appreciated.

E92 335i - What fuel map for MHD? Help!
SmackJackTheCrackerMan replied to kiwiN54's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, this caught me out too so I spoke to the guys at MHD who advised that the fuel we get here or what I use is BP98. They said I would have to run the 93 Oct map. -
Thanks, that's always good to hear. That was before the new plugs & coils and the difference they have made to how smooth the engine runs at idle is amazing.
-
Hopefully this works 😀 IMG_4432.MOV

I keep the car as well maintained as I possibly can to be fair. I have just replaced Spark plugs with NGK Laser Iridium (1 step colder) and new Delphi Technologies Coils and it has made the car so much smoother. I would like to replace the Injectors with Index-12 but I have just got off the phone with BMW Wellington and I was quoted $3572 + GST for all 6. I will try to upload the video now....
-
Yup the code followed the coil to cylinder 1. best to replace the whole 6 at the same time? anything else I should check while I’m in there? Thanks for the help!
-
Hey everyone, I was just out for a short drive, car nearly up to operating temp and I put my foot down a bit up to 80kph and engine light came on. I have checked using MHD and I’ve a misfire in cylinder 6. What is my best option from here? plugs and coils? injectors? (Please noooooo!) any advise would be great.

It's around 125,000, its getting up there
-
Thanks, I'll give this a go. I will try to get a video if I can and try to post it up here just to be sure.

I’ve heard a couplE of people recommend Pro-ma MBL8 oil additive, but it seems pretty expensive. Has anyone ever tried this? Worth the $80ish
-
Hey, from what I’ve read lifter tick is pretty normal on the N54 engine, but I was wondering if there is a way to reduce the noise? As it’s pretty loud.

SmackJackTheCrackerMan replied to SmackJackTheCrackerMan's topic in Wheels & Tyres
I don’t think so, I’ve had a look and the radius in the corners seem different. I think I may have found the matching design, although who know who actually made them. Avant Garde - M310 - 19x9.5 +33 (5x120) https://www.fitmentindustries.com/buy-wheel-offset/M310-FB520199533/avant-garde-m310-19x95-33? now to find someone who can ship one to me! -

I couldn’t even find the offset but I worked it out to be +33.
