Correct, they use chassis numbers instead which are fairly easily decoded (based on my experience with Subaru anyway). Won't give you nowhere the same amount of information that you can extract from BMW VINs though but DOM is definitely there.

Yep, pointed that to a dealer I got mine off. Was one of the reasons to knock 10k off the asking price

Did not have any issues connecting my F-series via Enet cable, successfully used both ISTA and E-sys for flashing.
-
If F series then you can get a cheap as chips ENET cable off ebay and also source ISTA. Will be enough for a recovery, have successfully done so myself when I bricked mine
That is of course if you have time to wait for the cable to arrive.

Haha I was exactly the same. Just make sure I take something decent.
My first test-drive of a diesel was in a 3.0BiTDI A6, got hooked and started looking at BMW diesels. Don't think I am going back to petrol any time soon.
But yeah, each to their own.

+1 for the diesel.
Moved from N55 to N57D and have never had any regrets. The pull is just amazing, 5.5L/100km on an open road is rather awesome too

F11 535i are getting cheaper too and a bit more common than F31.

Explains why my late 2012 build is registered as 2014 (when it was sold new).
Thought the registrations were by the year of manufacture, not when a car was actually sold.

Have comfort seats in mine, a bit of a step up from sport seats in the old F11 (with lumbar support) comfort-wise.

Any suggestions for someone in Auckland whom I can go to?
Not as hard as it sounds and there's heaps of how-to's online.

+1 for diesel. Get so much more range for less money, yet more fun.
From F-series 535i to 640d.

You need to VO code and reflash your CIC from Japanese to ECE specs, then you'll have expanded radio frequencies.
If you had an F series I'd be more helpful, Google is your best friend.

I want those rims.
So sexy.

Sorry can I go off-topic and ask you how many 6 series Gran Coupes were sold here officially? And diesels in particular? ?

Yep... Was following one through Ponsonby today. "Carbon” wrapped bonnet and no mufflers. I mean no mufflers at all, not even muffler deletes. Looked extremely dumb imho.

I am looking for some at the moment, priced up a set of RE003 from BS Select and they can do them for about the same price as a set of Dunlop SP 050+ Both are non-RFT.
Time to decide, any suggestions/opinions?
$1500ish for a set of 245/35/20 and 275/30/20
-
Sweet, contemplating whether to swap the whole set all at once or do the rears now and wait for the fronts to wear off.
Found SP Sport Maxx 050 in 275/30/20 for $399 a corner.
Edit: and 245/35/20 @ $350 a corner.

or Google

Have a look on aliexpress - there are some very high quality housings for F-series, wouldn't tell the difference between OEM and those. Surely there are some for older types too.
-
If that's the case mine will be affected...
-
PM me, can do this for you
Any recommendations on a UK-based online parts supplier?
