  1. But they will fit with not very much work at all.

Of course they will fit but they will totally f**k up the handling because the offset is WRONG

    word!

Depends on what you call not very much work. If you want to do some pretty serious guard rolling and flaring esp at the rear, and then run the wrong size tyre, yeah they should fit. Save yourself a lot of time and money and buy the correct fitment.

  2. Personally I would stay away from it just because of who is selling it.

I have been and checked a few cars out previously from them and have never been happy. I am always a bit suspect aboout traders who only offer a very very limited time to inspect a vehicle. 4 hours is hardly enough especially if over 10 people go to have a look at it.

Check out their feedback as well - lots of horror stories. I am surprised thet TM allow them to continue. I suspose they do bring in 1000's of $ of revenue for TM - maybe that is why they are still there.

  3. I was looking at the car and considering wheels first or lowering then I thought maybe I could get a nice stance to the car if I lowered it on the 15"s for now with lower profile tyres and got some spacers just to pump them out a little bit, certed of course. Opinions?

Total waste of time and money. You may as well just give me all your cash you have saved up :D

Lower profile 15" tyres will not only look silly but they will prob create havoc with your auto trans, ABS, speedo etc. Do it once and do it properly. Some nice wide 19" wheels and adjustables would look awesome :)

  4. Hartge have always been renowned for their subtlety when tuning cars, this model has such subtle mods that you can’t even tell it’s a Hartge.

It was the Japanese style number plate holders and optional 15 wheels that were a giveaway for me, you will get the hang of how to identify such limited number special editions one day.

Welcome to "BS" (aptly abbreviated) Jake.

It must be the stealth model Hartge E39, only the rear badge gives it away

If your thinking low and slow, I don't think it will be very different to many E39's at all.

the return of the SLAB's :D

    Edit: genuine Hartge below

  5. I can’t stand, no I actually detest people who think they can sit it the passing lane and dictate the speed.

    +1

oh....... and the prople that happily sit on 90km/h UNTIL a passing lane comes along, then they do 110-120km/h. They are the people the really get under my skin.

Random question @ Bellicose....... How tall are you?

  6. almost the same thing is happening to me i got accused of swerving at oncoming traffic and puling hand gestures out the window according to some member of the public which is bullshit the acuall facts are that some idiot in front of me slammed on his brakes so therefore i had to swerve out of the way to avoid hitting him.. the police cannot do anything if they have no hard evidence and if in fact u are innocent just keep saying not guilty if they have no proof of you losing traction at all and if the photos do not show you losing any traction then what are you worried about?

I have seen you driving down at Mission Bay and would probably believe the public. If you are following a car, by law, you should be able to safely stop behind them - even if their brake lights are NOT working.

back on topic - get a lawyer, don't worry about whether the car can or cannot do burnouts, it is a moot point.

  7. They mustve entered the wrong car. That car is too old for Fuelsaver data anyway. Oldest 750Li it does is '06

    Yep - Li = E65, iL = E38. Confusing huh :D

It is a tidy car but standard spec - nothing unusual about it. :)

The cool thing is though you can move the passenger seat from the rear controls!

  8. Sorry but that price did include import tax and everything i called customs and got a quote for everything. all that was left was for me to go and pik it up. :D

    Dear oh dear...

You cannot just drive onto the wharf and pick stuff up. The container must be picked up by a registered company and then taken to MAF approved facilities to be unloaded. You get charged to have the container picked up by a swinglift, then get charged to get it dropped off, then get charged again to get it picked up. This has nothing to do with MAF or Customs.

MAF and Customs are 2 separate entitities so their charges are unrelated. If you can do the whole lot for 3k then obviously there would only be about 10 kits in the container.

If you don't unload the container and get it back to the port within a specified period of time then you also get charged detention charges.

Then again, what would I know, I have only be doing it for over 5 years

  9. sorry but it was 3000 to get it all here to the auckland port.

I have underlined the relevant bit. What you have failed to take into account is the port service charges, MAF charges, Container pickup and drop off charges (x2). and then add GST on top of that. As I regularly import containers I do have a fair idea of what is required and the charges.

Good on you for having a go but it seems like you didn't really do all of your homework properly :)

Giving out your cost prices is never a good idea :)

  10. Good news.. well not really. after emailing the person alot and asking for photos she finally returned with a email stating.

    "Hi Heino,

About this, to be honest, because our company don't make fitment, we are not very clear.

    Best regards and thanks"

So im abit hesitant about doing it.

if only this was said at the start.

Now who didn't see that coming

yes but thats why i just took my time finding all of this out so i dont waste about 3000 dollers hahah

A container would have been a lot more than that, shipping alone is generally around that mark
