  1. Interesting, I'm already with ami. What was the process to get that valve. Where they pretty accommodating with the mods adding to the value.
  2. Who did you end up getting insurance with to get that number. With that number I would still be buying the car back from insurance and using the the difference to buy another 130i to swap everything over to.
  3. I know most have already seen this but I will post it again anyway. https://youtu.be/2cyBMqT-LNQ?si=x4v7yn4jkTHANSMH
  4. M3 is heavy and can be high maintenance, the M2 is overrated in my opinion and I also don't like turbo cars ( I also could never give up hydro steering so m2 is out ). Besides either of those car you would still have to put 20k into them on top of the 40-50k purchase price to even get close to making the most out of them. I have been fortunate enough to drive a good few cars and still haven't found anything that puts a smile on my face as much as my 130i. I'm only 18 as well so much easier to buy a 9k car and slowly drop 45k into it. I'm not a fan of financing a depreciating asset unlike most people my age so would have only just got the M2 or M3 now when I have already enjoyed my 130i for a year. Also try to get insurance for an M3 or M2 at 18, you would find the the cost laughable. Sorry for the rant but that's just my opinion on it.
  5. Really interested to see what ends up being the best solution for you as my 130i is only valued at 9k for insurance right now. I'm currently waiting to finish it off over the next few months and get a cert before exploring more specialized options for insurance. I currently have 50k into the car so will probably be a struggle to get any insurance for the car that would fairly cover the car if it was wrecked. Currently I'm with dln on this and think that just taking the parts off and transferring to a new car in the case of a wreck would be the smartest option, which with that in mind it starts to make less sense paying for 1st party when your going to buy the car back from insurance anyway. I'm 18 turning 19 in September so as you can imagine insurance is already a pain.
  6. If you don't want a helical LSD you will have to pay for it. M factory 1.5/2 way LSD on ecs tuning would be your best bet. 1850 delivered plus 385 duty fee so 2235 all in.

    My 130i Build

They are a staggered set 8 inch front and 9 inch rear, I weighed them when the tyres where off for painting and they were roughly 8.8kg for the fronts and 9.5kg for the rears

    My 130i Build

Started getting the shocks and brakes off today, also test fitted the f8x brakes while I still had the chance. Next time this car rolls under it own power it going to be a completely different car. Its going to take a while but it will be worth the wait.

    My 130i Build

If your's was for sale a year ago when I bought my car I definitely would have. Your car would have been a much better starting point. I keep a spreadsheet of how much I have spent on my car and it hard to believe how quickly things add up.

    My 130i Build

And these are some of the part that I have been collecting this year and it will my job to install over the next 2-3 months ready for summer. Main things with be an M3 LSD, axles, steering rack, rear subframe, rear spring arms and some M3 coilovers. Along with f8x m2 brakes a GM to 6hp21 swap just to name a few.

    My 130i Build

Before the next few months of overhauling the car this is some previous stuff to catch up on. IMG_20250308_104937_536.webp
  12. Will definitely have to start one now with all the work that will be happening over the next 2-3 months. If you want to catch up on what I have done most of the stuff is on my Instagram account. https://www.instagram.com/that_white_130i?igsh=dTJ2NjdrajF6azcy
  13. Comparison of the f8x M2 380/370 rotors and the dba 370/345 F-series M-performance rotors. Both use the same pads and same calipers just different ways of mounting to hubs.
  14. I'm running 18 inch OZ racing ultraleggeras, you can't use m2 brakes with 340mm rotors. I will be running 370f/345r rotors as the F series M performance set up. I have the 380f/370r rotors which came with the calipers but these no way to mount the 370mm rears to the 130i rear hubs and I'm not converting to e82 hubs as my OZ wheels already have a very aggressive offset.
  15. Since my shocks are coming off, my current brakes will be up for sale. They are e9x 335i fronts 348x30 and rears 336x24 ( Yes the rears just bolt up ) with DBA slotted rotors, EBC redstuff pads and condor speed shop brass caliper bushings. The pads where new 3000-4000 kms and the rotors were resurfaced at the same time. Only selling as I'm switching to m2 brakes as I got a good deal on a set and after test fitting they luckily fit under wheels. Photos from the 5th of March when I replaced the pads and resurfaced the rotors.
  16. I have a set of b4s on my car currently that will coming off as I'm doing an M3 rear end swap. They only have 10kms and where installed November last year. I wasn't planning on taking them off for another 2 months but I could take them off now as the car isn't being driven due to the current weather as it's on semi slicks. Let me know if you would be interested, they have the shorter Z8 front bumpstops and the now NLA BMW performance e90 euro rears, would include the new top mounts and the springs to save you having to swap your front springs on. Picture from November last year just before I installed them for reference, note the rear bumpstops in that picture aren't the BMWP ones as they didn't turn up until December.
