  1. R3v always have sh*t for sale... people over here always wanting astronomical prices for their rare parts (with good reason) there were some MINT borbet type C's for sale somewhere not so long ago.. Depening on what you want to spend could try the manufacturer's....

  2. Wow, thats alot of reading. basically i agree with bullitt, NZ government = crap. They only do things if they are going to make some money off it. Basically somewhere in this 'legislation' the govt are going to be making some $$ otherwise they wouldn't bother, they just feed the public bullshit, emissions, fuel consumption blah blah... in all reality WTF is the point in stopping older cars from coming in?

  3. Headunit should have a 12V negative Earth, 12V power and ACC wires going into the plug. You will need to connect all three of these, always run a new (Preferrably fused 20 amps is good) 12V power wire straight from the battery. And a new 12V Earth to a bare metal piece of chassis. Pull the steering wheel off and the surround and look on the back of the ignition and using a circuit tester try the wire connections until you find an 'ACC' wire (You will know this if the circuit tester only lights up when key is turned) strip a section of this wire and attach your new ACC wire (solder and then tape/heatshrink should be used)

As for the amp you should run a fused wire (ampere ratings will depend on how many amps you are running and how much load the fuse will need to accept before blowing) straight from the battery to the amps power input. Also run a new earth to a bare metal chassis point. The 'ACC' on the amp is alternatively known as the remote wire. you will need to hook this up to the 'remote out' wire on your headunit. Therefore the amp will turn on when the headunit does but will still hold the memory/tuning setting if it is a digital amp.

Hope that helps, pictures speak a thousand words but i dont have any so tough. Also look at some of the car audio guides stickied in the apperance/audio forum

  4. Okay, i had a look under the car the other day and checked all possible bits that could be knocking, noticed that the bolts on the drivers side of the gearbox crossmember had come loose. I tightened them up and away went the knocking noise and the vibration. Its been fine for the last few days but on the way home today the vibration started up again in low revs in 1st gear. I havnt checked the bolts again since, but what i am wanting to know is are the crossmember bolts supposed to have locknuts on them?

Im just about to go have another look to see if they have vibrated loose again.

    Will keep this thread updated..

    Cheers

    Chris

  7. From Paihia go Kerikeri - hit my skid paddock on the way past - and go up the coast road (SH 10 to the top and do the whole 90 mile thing). Then go back down SH1 thru the mangamukas - if its not busy then you'll be opposite lock oversteering the whole way corner to corner. (if that's your thing)

Mangamukas should be D1NZ special stage.... the Far North Corp Boys (i gotta few mates up there) do drift battles through the gorge at 120 + at 3am saturday morning lol its insanely scary... not that i would know

O yea and you gotta go to moerewa. That has the meanest tourist destination of all.... AFFCO Meat Works! Yayaaa B) that butcher next to it must have the freshest meat in the far north!!!
