Quite a nice looking car, seen it around a few times, sounds quite good to, and not bastardised, tasteful mods etc.

Guys
Check out the fancy K&N filter fitment on this E39. I nearly fell off my chair laughing.
Not for air intake though, isn't it a breather filter?

-
ill get back to you on that got to get a price from my guy who does the the polishing and final little touch ups 4 me,
thanks
Choice, that would be great.
Could you not line it with something to make less heat emit through the metal? also is it completely open underneath ie where does it let air in from? Could you take a pic of it out of the car?
Id probably make one myself, if i knew how to weld and if i had the time/resources.....
Cheers
Chris

and yes you must have alot of spare time

B&M have something called a line locking device, its what mad mike used in his 808 wagon fursty. They work pretty good from what ive heard, just need a brake mech to install it.

Yea I got my fair share back off them though, 7k for some minor frontal damage aint to bad
I look at it as getting all my money I payed in fines back!
I still have no respect for the NZ police though, i have nothing against the people that are police officers but the system they operate on is far sub standard and eventually will lead to this country turning into the likes of compton.

My m20b20 has about 170k on the clock when i got it, it had done 140k auto tranny poked about 150k and in went the manual. Got a m20b25 parts car which is pre f/l and has 320k on the clock but i think it has had a new donk put in at some stage as it looks like a f/l motor. and wear on the motor doesn't seem like its done that many k's, doesnt smoke whatsoever and doesn't miss at all. A mate had a f/l 2.0 litre that did about 370k and went through two auto boxes and just about shat a manual in the time he had it (took it from about 130,000 to 420ish driving from h-town to south auckland everyday) but the motor was still going with no smoke or anything when he sold it.
Best ive ever seen though is a GLXI Toyota Cressida that my g/f's dad had, bought it new and its still running at 430,000 odd k's!!!

Its been said god knows how many times, do it once, do it right. Save your $$$ and get a link! So much more possibilites and if you think about how much you are spending on a chip vs the compatibility of a link... link=win.

Is that your car with guards and front lights etc chopped on? Looks tough as! Still liking that sketch of the red car in the other thread! that would be oh so sick!

so then we thaught about how difficult it may be to get the v12 from the 750 into it but that may be getting a lil carried away... who knows, i cant imagine that tho a 5L v12 in a 3 series shell!!!!!!!
That has also been done, but only into E30's that i am aware of.
Seriously wouldn't bother with a 2.0 turbo, i'm sure it would be so much cheaper/more effective to go a N/A 2.8, which would also allow for brake and suspension upgrades... If you got such a good deal, sell the 320 for more than you paid for it and buy something with a decent engine to begin with?? Failing that, buy a wrecked 2.5/2.8 and then you can use all the brakes etc off that. Just my 2c. If you want turbo, DO IT.
Quoted fo backup.
What a stupid idea. Seriously. Imagine the money spent to turbo it. Bolt a 2.5/2.8 in. Heaps cheaper, probably the same power. Then if you really want to, turbo that instead.
Just outta interest grant, how much has yours cost to build?
He put a price list up somewhere, i think about 12 k or something....

how much did you pay just out of curiosity, i like the fact that these cars have so much accessible power, but their handling kinda lets them down, but i guess im just a noob to FWD.
Good choice, looks good and has some good mods in there, good luck with your new car!
