  1. I have B+G springs in my E30 320i - drop is about 40mm. Good springs but you must upgrade the shocks as well to give it acceptable handling as the springs rates are no good with std shocks (like most stiffened springs). 40 mm is really as low as you should go and still use it on the road (imo).

    Vacuum line

Thanks for the info - much appreciated. Yes, the car does run fine without it but if its there then thought it should be connected to something lol . Thanks Andrew for the pics - they will be most useful - Cheers

    Vacuum line

I have an E30 320i. There seems to be a vacuum line missing off the distributor ie theres a place for a line but theres not one there ...so where should it go? Anyone know? The most obvious places around the throttle body or intake manifold seem to be blanked off with little bits of blank hose. Any help appreciated.

    86 BMW 320i

:thumb: Nice!! Looks very tidy - well done. Only thing I can see is the rear window surrounds are very faded. I replaced mine and apart from being a B... of a job (best accomplished by lightly greasing the rubber channel before starting and using a wide blunt screwdriver and a plaster spreader thingy to pry back the rubber) it has really lifted the car. Otherwise looks great. How much did your gearbox conversion cost, and what have you found the benefits to be?
  6. Like the last guy, I have a diff ratio question, but instead of reving high I have the opposite problem. I have a E30 320i with 4 speed auto and I find that at 100km/h its only turning at about 2200 - 2300 rpm - on changing down into 3rd the revs jum to about 3500rpm at the same speed. It seems like the cars way out of its preferred rev range at that speed as once you get up to about 140 its much happier but of course I do want to keep my license!! Any ideas or ppl who have a similar setup to me who have improved things?

    My 320i

Cheers for the comments. Yeah, Its been a case of make one good car out of two. I also have a 325i with a half decent motor which I bought and swopped out the mags, leather, and a few other bits and pieces. The 325 has a dodgy body though and the 320 was quite tidy, hence the decision to do it up. I didnt put a wing on the back but opted for the little spoiler instead because in my mind I prefer subtle mods in keeping with the era rather than try and make a car into something it was never designed to be if that makes sense...but each to his own and I still appreicate some of the more radical mods that ppl do. Cars are so individual eh!!

    My 320i

Here's one of the interior - not a great shot but the only one I have. Ignore the mats lol, going to change em asap. The door trims have also been changed since this pic was taken, now they are black to match the seats.

    My 320i

Have done some mods like B+G springs (Lowered 40mm) with Bilsteins still to go in. Interior now has Leather sports seats. 15" Alloys in place of the standard wheels. Am going to shadow the chrome as the chrome has weathered badly and is quite marked. Am planning on also putting in a 325i engine as I find the 320 quite under powered on the hills though it is also very high geared. Comments appreciated.
