My site? thanks was made redundant last year so it put a halt to spending large amounts of money on the car, but its about to change, can finally mount up the new brakes and finish off the engine. Want to get the engine dynoed standard to see what it currently puts out, give me a base line. Coilovers (gaz) are next though and a quick rack kit from the uk, the suspension out of the jps will go into the alpina

There are two daves. Dave towe is a different person, dave ross (dcr) who owns the website just has pics of the (dave towe's) car up on his website. DCR has an M3 himself, rebuilt 2.5 (with evo bits), then turbocharged.

Was a 6 series forsale here on the coast recently with what looked like jps stuff in it. BBS wheels (gold centres), recaro interior, simple body mods (spoilers), and of course, jps badges on the pillars. Not sure if they ever did anything with an M6 though? Info on jps cars is scarce at the best of times, ask me how I know

there isnt a whole lot of difference in length between them, if you sit a 245 next to them both you realise just how short both gearboxes are. The main difference in length is due to the different belhousing design, the 260 is much deeper (longer), they use similar rear housings and there isnt a whole lot of difference in the length of the cases (not including the belhousing section). but yes, of course, different internals used to handle the added torque of the bigger engines. Unless you run through different kinds of gearboxes and see what they fail under, i dont think anyone can say just how much stronger they actually are going to be.

more room inside an E21

bit of proof if anyone wants to see it first hand. 240's like those found in 320i and 520i's will bolt up to a M20 (given that the cars both run M20's). Dont mind the bit of a clean

nice looks like its going to be pretty sweet, just one thing though, they are forged rods as standard.

E30's very rarely look good with 18's, there are exceptions but i dont think those wheels will pull it off.

they dont all tick at all, not when everything is fine. They should be fairly quiet, if anything injectors make more noise. Eccentrics are known to wear, thats the point of having them, if it continues ticking its usually down to worn eccentrics.

sounds like a failing solenoid if it wont turn over for strange reasons. Unbolt your cables, sand the connections with emery tape/fine sandpaper, bolt it back up and see if it fixes the problems. Bad earth/connections cause strange things like that too.

they dont have tappets, they have eccentrics. If you set it and it still ticks you probably have worn eccentrics or you need to work on your technique a little.

CSB = center support bearing. You will find it in the middle of the driveshaft, when it fails it produces a knocking noise and added vibrations. A known fail item on E30's and generally one of the most common sources of driveline noises. The other being the guibo.

check your csb too.

check your door seals too. Common problem, water runs up and over the sill, end up with soaked carpet. Easiest way to check everything is to sit in the car while a friend gets the hose out, just spray the car all over. A piece of long plastic or some stiff wire is usefull to clear / check sunroof drains.

its made by a company called pfeba.

no, its not the rev limit. on the later 731 heads they increased the inlet port size. Thats where the power came from.
