yeah as someone stated about mechanical failure. There are many Sti's on trademe that have been re-conditioned lol. meaning basically they have been thashed and will not last more then 20,000km after you have brought it. Evo 4 may be the way I go but then comparing a jap with a euro is like comparing Budget cola to Coke, or a Volta vacuum cleaner to a dyson lol

yeah but for the price a sti v4 ant bad.. Anything else thats 4 door besides a evo 4 for around $11000 - $16000. Was working today ( retail ) and sold a Sony bravia to a customer who paid in cash ( Means they are financially well) instead of HP and helped him take his home theatre system to the car and as I walked behind him I noticed an M3 e36 parked in the direction we were walking.. Turned out it was his and he is selling it. Asked the price and realised I would be working in retail 7 days a week to buy it. Nice guy tho but his missus wants him to get rid of it as the "family" is coming along and go and buy a HSV.. Seems that he has money for jam as I asked what other cars he had... and envy glowed in my eyes.. great guy tho, non-cocky, still trying to get get products for as low as possible!

Was driving on State Highway One coming into the Porirua region and coming up to the lights near Aotea Lagoon and was red and noticed a 2005 M5 right in front of me waiting for the lights to turn green. No one was in front of him to much of him enjoying where I was behind him in my e36 318is!! OK here is what happened...... I shoved mine into Sports Mode ( Auto ) and waited for the lights to turn green.. well before I knew it the bastard in the M5 was 200m in front of me and im still trying to get over 50km! The rich arsewhole most probably did a quarter mile in 12 seconds max. Moral of my story.. Unless you have $300,000 lying around to buy the M5, be smart and get an WRX sti... then you can give him a go for his money and can come out saying " My car is worth 1/10 of yours!" But it was nice Black and 19" deep dish mmmmmmmmm

Yeah you get the retards who think they can get it cheaply. I am currently going through a process of waiting for the funds of a buyer that is in love with the car. I am getting $8000 and they will be fixing the repairs stated on the auction. I am turning over to the squinted eyes side ( Japs ) after I test drove a mates wrx sti v4. Window Motor has burnt out. Have been told that it will cost $350 for a new motor and then labour as well. Want it done professional so no problems in the future.

Hi, Thanks much appreciated. Havent bothered phoning Shelly BMW as many people have told me they charge an arm an a leg. So going to wreckers would be the next best option but have heard that they also seem to charge alot mroe because it is a european car! Thanks

Hi, I am in need for a 1994 e36 318is Coupe right side door motor( I think). My right side window does not go down anymore and I was told by an electrician that I need a new motor or regulator ( cant memba and whats different between them?). I heard that these are quite expensive. My windows are the type that when u open the door they drop about a cm or when you close the doors they raise a cm. Can someone point me in the right direction and if you have one or what types I can use would be very greatful. Thanks

Hi AntonyG, Cheers I am planning on getting some other alarm installers to do the job. Are they actually allowed to charge you a small fee of labour even if they are unable to install the alarm for your car as a part is required which they cannot get? Thanks

It is under the dashboard, It is the main control function for all the electrics eg airbags, windows etc. Will give you a call if you kind of know what im talking about lol.

I own a BMW 318is E36 model and I went to have my alarm installed yesterday(Uniden VS2600XR). Lef it overnight and find out today that the professional installer cannot get it done unless I buy a new Base control Module!! Guess how much $700! he couldnt find out why until he had phoned BMW Wellington, BMW Europe and then BMW Germany to find the final answer... That my Module is not allowing a signal to the Alarm.!! Arrh! I cant afford $700 just for a module! Adive advice please!

I am so stressed. My Bmw is not letting alarm installers install my alarm. Reason why is that the Base control Module is not allowing the installers to put in the new alarm! They told me its going to cost approx $700 for a brand new one! Am I stuffed? Where can I get one second hand? im sooo upset!

Hi, if your interested I will place some pictures up within the next week. Just got to get around to doing it and washing my e36. I notice tho having a black bmw really attracts dirt and makes the dirt stand out alot more! :banghead:
