Mike, I like the stance on that, (and sorry to go off topic) but what colour is that? Is it OEM?

  2. Without seeing the video, I remember seeing something in the news about this - it's for a US stadium from memory, and they can fill a glass heaps quicker... some sort of nifty valve design, and they put advertising on the valve too - great thinking, and they used the revenue to develop the design. :D

  3. It was pretty scary all right - I was on the 4th floor of my workplace, don't now which one my wife was on in her building. No power or water, we're staying with friends. First thoughts were find daughter at nursery, wife managed to call me on way out. BOth buildings have structural damage, but it appears Civil defence have nabbed it anyway.

Thoughts go to those severely affected - I'm lucky to have a job to come back to, and it will be changed to working at assistance centres for the forseeable future I think.

  4. I remember that car when it was for sale a few years ago, and the owner then wanted about $10k for it. It was a minter, very low kays (about 109k?), and had been pretty well maintained.

It got sold (I remember being miffed, as I was still dithering over it!), and it was for sale a year or so ago. Now, it's up for sale again?

  5. For all the bitching and whining the retailers make about internet sales taking business away from them, they could just be more competitive... I'm buying stuff from legit businesses overseas, I'm not messing about with a mere one-ninth discount (yeah it's 15% now, but it's been a while), it's more like 30-40%... I can buy some[i/] hand tools and get them shipped to me from the UK for cheaper than what I can buy here...

  6. Is it just me, or do other on here who deal with the public find that people ( and I've noticed it is often as Paul Henry would put it " Non NZers ) do not seem to understand NO !!

At this time of the year I am VERY busy - worked till 10pm last night, back at 6am this morning ....

But I am getting phone calls wanting work done Urgently, to which at the moment I have to say "NO " but they just keep pushng !!!!

Take the tourist who rung me early this week, and I told him I could NOT repair his camera and he should just buy a cheap one to finish his trip, and low and behold, 12 hours later he knocks on my door after driving thru the night !!!

Tell me it is not just me ???

Been at this for 22 yrs, always had a bit of this, but this year is reallllly bad

Maybe there's been a language difficulty or a misunderstanding, but I would be charging this guy a shedload... kinda immoral I know, but he really needs it (high demand) and you're pushed for time (low supply), gotta make your time worth more... just my 2c

  7. its a nice car but it is the wrong colour

Nah, I'd have to go with Silver, though Black will have to do me for now!

Bezzal, I wished I'd grabbed that boot mat you had for sale at the same time, I knew I'd get my hands on a 535 sooner or later, never seen one of those mats since though! lol

  8. Awesome job Glenn! I found the toughest part of giving up was; the routines when you smoke, like before bed after or with coffee, having a few beers, driving to work etc etc and realising those signs and when those cravings come on.

Alittle bit OT but relevant to people giving up smoking: A friend of mine is over from Australia at the end of next month to release a new drug, for clearing lungs from the crap of years of smoking...even when you give up smoking only a small % of tar and crap comes out and the rest remains...could be pharmaceutical co's propoganda though, i think i'll probably look into it!

I'd be interested in finding out what this drug is called and whether it works- my mum and sister both smoke and have either quit or are trying to quit. My mum quit after about 40 years of smoking (and my nan after 50- gave her another ten years...). Mum and nan both quit one day and never started again... but then both instances involved emergency medical procedures! :D

Would be good to see if there's something out there that can help 'new non-smokers' recover quicker...
