looking for an elusive e28 moonroof, mine is almost rusted through, If there is not one around I'm looking for the regular sunroof internals as I already have the top outer lid but no under frame etc.

Hi all, Had the sunroof in the E39 on the vent position ( 'tilt/popped' ) while parked up last few days in town during those fine days and noticed when I came back that the sunroof was shut. Some f***wit must had forced it close by slamming it as now the sunroof does not tilt anymore however still fully slides open and closes. If I've pushed the tilt position the sunroof does not pop however it can be tilted up if pushed from bottom but obviously does not stay in postion. Upon fully opening back the sunroof I found one of these broken clips along the tracks. Did some googling and found that the clips are actually pretty cheap (if thats the only problem) however from what I've seen it can be quite a complex fix. Seen a few DIY steps on the net for the glass sunroof but none for the solid panel sunroofs. I think the glass sunroof removal is different to the solid one because they don't have the inside sunroof layer in the way to access the side screws (correct me if I am wrong)? Wondering if any of you guys had this problem before or similar and can shed any tips or tricks into fixing this? What steps should I take to remove the sunroof to see the rails/damage?

Hi all, About a 9 months ago I bought a manual '96 e36 323i sunroof sedan in Arctis Grey, and no the sunroof doesn't work properly. Purchased 17x8 and 17x9 staggered style 32 wheels which rubbed quite hard on the rears so I rolled the guards. Spent some time at pick a part - found a couple of good scores like an m50 manifold for about $60 I bought and installed Yellowspeed Adjustable suspension because the wheel gap on the front hurt my eyes The extra stiffness was enough to pop out one of my grills, which was moderately upsetting Replaced them with some black grills, I'm unsure if I'm going to go back to OEM chrome surrounds as I'm generally a purist when it comes to Aesthetic mods so we'll see how much they niggle my conscience. This is the overall look of the car now, fairly happy with it. A couple of months ago I bought a manual '92 e36 325is coupe as a donor and have since stripped out the diff, box, block and other goodies. I am in the process of building this engine for a single vanos +T setup to transplant into the 323i. Here are some flicks of the goings on so far! More to come . . .

After a winder for my sunroof (car: 525e E28 but I suspect the same was found on e30s from the 80s too) They commonly break apparantly. I pretty much just need the handle and what ever rotating parts etc, spring/clip comes with it. Am in Dunedin but I'll pay for freight... Not looking to spend too much - it's a Scottish ancestry thing Tom
