  1. Better late than never, but here's a foray into the next major step in my E30 I began last week - the drivetrain! This has been on the cards for a few years, but I finally settled on what I want to do with my 300,000km M20B25 and work has begun, have slowly been sourcing parts for it over the last year or so. The juicy bits are basically a 2.8 M52 crank to build a stroker from the original b25, coupled with custom pistons further pushing to a 2.9L displacement, with RHD ITBs, hotter cam and Link Fury to be the brains of the thing. Loads of other bits along the way naturally! Last week I managed to hire a couple of bros to pull the engine, win win because I got free labour and they got to learn cars without the pain and expense of projects themselves. During the week I tore down the engine to get it ready to take it down to the engine shop for boring. Good to see that the weld on the head from the infamous M20 crack two years ago held strong with all looking in order. Remarkable how little wear in the bottom end bearings on a 300km motor! Local engineering shop completed my crank spacer too so the b28 crank should drop straight in now. Todays agenda was removing the rear subframe, as to clean it up/blast/paint and re-bush as I sourced new Powerflex bushes to go in. Tomorrow I'll take stock of exactly what I need to prep and take for sand/vapour blasting and paint prep and tidy the engine bay up and remove the brake master/booster in lieu of the replacements currently in freight.
  2. Hey team, I'm looking for recommendations for an engine builder who can put together a M20B25 2.7ltr stroker, preferably in the North Island. I have the engine all in bits (minus a few of the ancillary bits eg. water pump, fuel rail, etc) as well as all the components to make it 2.7ltr (conrods from a m20b20, crank from a 2.8ltr m52, etc). I have no idea how to competently put it together. Going to use this in my '71 2002.

Preferably after: M20B25 Ideally the engine will be good enough to drop in and wire up, also don't mind refreshing gaskets.Require Loom and Ecu Also interested in stroker variants (2.7,2.8,2.9). Getrag 260 gearbox. Located in AKL willing to travel for the right setup.
  5. After giving this some serious thought, I now regretfully have to move this on as I can no longer store my car in the shed. I need a daily and contemplating selling my E30 coupe with the parts I have for my M20B27 engine build. Much prefer to sell the 2.7 and G260 manual conversion together so I can keep the e30 and find storage for her. *Willing to negotiate a fair price for m20, g260 with e30. Facelift E30 COUPE: -WOF & REG -Alpine white -mint crackless dash -Near new Yellow speed adjustable suspension (welded 51mm knuckles) -New front wheel bearings -F Poly lower control arm bushings -Both working pop-out rear windows -Low ks only 107,000kms - All components work on the dash -Mint interior, glove box needs the latch $6000 as is (stock m40 has been removed last month) Will not be parting out the car. * pls note does not come on Hartge wheels or Bbs rs. M20b27 stroker: -731 m20 head -Have b25 addons intake/exhaust manifold ect. -m20 sump -Full rebuild on ETA block + new gaskets by Car Aid -Loom & motronic 1.3 ecu -New head bolts - Have an m20 sump (not in pic) will come with. & Getrag 260 gearbox: -Preferred box for m20's -Bought to convert 1.8 auto to 2.7 manual -Complete minus cross member, shifter & boot $2500 for the m20b27 stroker & G260 manual conv. Located Pukekohe Not interested in parting out Sold as is where is (motor + manual conversion or with the e30)

  7. M20 731 cylinder head off m20b20. Was going to make a stroker for my eta but I have a full m30 conversion now so not going that way. $100. Will put photos up later. Pickup from One Tree Hill.
