Fen 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 I just spent the weekend at the Nurburgring with a few friends and one of them took me out in the M3 CSL he bought about 2 weeks ago. It was so good I'm seriously tempted to sell all my cars and buy one, but as my wife snd I are planning to move to NZ later this year there are concerns over the inport taxes. Are there any CSLs in NZ and if so do they ever come up for sale (and what are they worth)? If not would it be a really bad idea to bring one in or would dealers or specialists be willing to work with me on getting parts from Europe if I needed any? It would be a pain if it was off the road waiting for bits, but I would have something else as well so it wouldn't be my only car. If I imported one and wanted to sell it would there be buyers or would people be scared to take something on so rare?
Andrew 30 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 One on trademe.co.nz for around 110k if I remember correctly - they come up for sale pretty often. There were a few imported and a couple of private imports. Dealers would support it.

nath 134 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Yeah plenty of buyers, and we also have our fair share of CSL's as well. usually 1 or 2 for sale so far as i know.... Not sure of current price, maybe around $100-130k? only a guess
Fen 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Excellent, thanks folks. That gives me something to work with, especially that some were officially imported. They go for £32,000 to £38,000 or so in the UK currently so probably not too far different by the time I factor in import taxes. It may be a driver to just sell all the cars before we leave and not have the hassle of importing. Is Trademe a better place to look than Autotrader? Anywhere else to keep an eye on for cars for sale?
bmw.maniac 1 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Is Trademe a better place to look than Autotrader? Anywhere else to keep an eye on for cars for sale? TradeMe is mostly private sales, whereas Autotrader is mostly dealers, so I would keep an eye in both.
nath 134 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Contact the NZ BMW agents, Auckland is Team Macmillan BMW, and Jerry Clayton BMW. They tend to keep pretty good track of CSL's and other reasonably sought after cars.... Same with most places, you may have to really squeeze it out of them, as sometimes they cant be bothered with the hassle

Mark 178 Report post Posted April 29, 2009 I saw a silver CSL parked a few doors down from me last night. Caught the ducktail spoiler out of the corner of my eye and spun my head round to have a perve, almost drove into a parked car!
