jpp 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2007 (edited) I can get my grubby hands on these, but will probably order to demand. I assume each e30 race car will already have a short shifter installed, but for those who are building, or need one, put ya hands up and how much you would be willing to pay. Will be made from 6061-T6 billet alloy, short shifters offer a shorter throw and quicker response. Even you e36ers I can get some in. Post your opinions.... Cheers, Jared. OLLIE 26 Report post Posted May 6, 2007 more details? what is the advantage of getting these over the z3 ones from bmw and how much are they? i'm looking for something in between stock and the z3 short shift kit.
jpp 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 If I can get more than 10 orders for e30 shifters, will be at around $60 for BS Members, sell on trademe for $80ish++ at this stage. From what I can gather at this stage, they are the same as Z3 shifters, just, aren't. Will shorten throw around 30%. Easy installation. LM Machined to Aircraft standards. I can't seem to find any Z4/Z3s on trademe anymore?? That's why I've looked into importing a few!
jpp 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 It is the SAME as this auction, only I'll sell to BS cheaper. Z3 Short Shifter Auction on TM

jpp 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2007 put me down for 1 Sweet. These will fit ALL manual e30s from '84 - '91 and e36s from '92 - '99. Can possibly include a "How To" on installation. Can possibly organise installation for a small extra cost.

Guest Denny Crane Report post Posted May 8, 2007 Carbon roundels you say?
ED1RTY 2 Report post Posted May 8, 2007 Also, can you get the related bushes for the shifter etc?
bravo 35 Report post Posted May 8, 2007 Can you get the ones for the sheet metal console (that looks like a direct replacement for alloy console.) Maybe it can be pulled apart and installed in sheet metal console? Have you tried one? Would like to know where the lever sits in the car - z3 ones not ideal as bend not the same as e30 stock, but you get used to it quick. Does the shift linkage hit the guibo like some of the z3 ones? You're priced quite a bit below z3 shifter (dealer price) and still significantly below non-dealer price too, so all good there. If you are bringing in stuff from overseas you should look at angel eyes
Andrew 30 Report post Posted May 8, 2007 If you are bringing in stuff from overseas you should look at angel eyes Why - Eurovogue carry them from Umnizta cheaper than you can buy them overseas.
bravo 35 Report post Posted May 8, 2007 (edited) That I didn't know. It's just that everyone seems to want them and AFAIK noone seemed to have them (at least not good ones). EDIT: Can't find them on their site - only for e36+ not e30. I assume we were talking e30 here seeing as it was an e30 shortshifter??? jpp 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2007 Me to. Ill be keen. When will you need the money?? Once I have confirmed shipment, you can do one of two things: 1/ 15% deposit [Price to be confirmed also] - Guaranteed a shifter. 2/ Try your luck, 100% payment once landed. Carbon roundels you say? I've got 3 sets of 3 roundels coming in. One for boot. One for Bonnet. One for centre steering wheel. One already sold. Also, can you get the related bushes for the shifter etc? Will come with the kit.

I have one in a mates car atm, has been in there for a few months now, goes well. I'm working on getting a demo car, or maybe give one to BimmerSport to review - Andrew? From my experience with one install, it didn't hit as bend was perfect. More will be known once I have a few in the country. I will discount BimmerSport, yet also supply TradeMe, Zillion, Trade and Exchange and a few other places at a larger cost. Angel Eyes have been done, and aren't that popular just yet as they aren't as strong as other after-market products.

nz320i 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2007 Bravo- i have the sheet metal bit on mine and not alloy shifter holder, what you do to fit these is take the universal bush from the blue holder, and take about 1mm off the diameter of the bush, it then fits nicely, just be careful doing it, mine has been fine for at least 6 months now..mine was a 95 dollar job from trade me
