Reverse Lights Not Going

Hi there, i have a 89 320i e30 & my car cant get a wof because my cars reserve lights dont work when you put the gear in reverse, its a manual box... if any body can help me that would be great!!! Thanks

Check fuses, bulbs, then if all else fails, a plug under the console, check its working.

I am under the impression that you do not need reverse lights to get a WOF.

I have not had reverse lights wired up for 2 years now.

You could also check the switch under the rubber boot at the gear lever. on top of the lever support arm.they are prone to fail.As has mine.

Ok Thanks if it has broken are they easy 2 replace or buy if so are you able to tel me where they fix or sell them??? thanks for your help!!!

To clarify regulations:

If ANY lights are fitted they DO have to work & comply. This is dependent on WOF testers diligence with inspection as to whether non going will be noted.

If switch is faulty then it is service by replacement, probably have to get genuine new as you will be unlikely to obtain a S/H one - are generally considered as part of the box.
