bravo 35 Report post Posted June 23, 2007 (edited) 1) the current student loan scheme will prob stay no matter what - it was an electioneering scheme and now its in I doubt it will go so forget that. BTW no matter how long you take to pay of your student loan, its f**k all out of your life, and if you actually did a decent degree instead of some f**kall BA then you would earn enough so it didn't matter. I had a student loan - took less than 9 months to pay off on my fat new out-of-uni salary (saving hard of course and working while at uni to minimise the loan - my parents paid for diddley). 2) MMP is all about voting for the minority party whose policies you believe in. Chances are the plebs will vote the majority parties in, so the more votes the minority party whose policies you agree with get, the more say they have come coalition time. The strategy is - decide which majority is the lesser evil. Look at who they say they will form a coalition with. Decide which one of those you agree the most with and vote for them. Hopefully they get enough votes that the majority party you looked at joins up with them to form a government and (unless you are EVEN MORE cynical than me)at least your party gets a say. 3) It is attitudes like the this - People think these are worth voting for: Labour (f**k up my nice rental portfolio) "Lesbian Helen" vs National (Tax breaks vs. social cost, just to wind up Labour anyway - didn't they sell our assets and cause half of the problems with SOE's that they are now blaming Labour for?) "I'm a homo - John Key" - that is what has got us f**ked in the first place. Bring on the Gustatorship/bravosocialist coalition. ED1RTY 2 Report post Posted June 24, 2007 (edited) The local Eastbourne candidate for ACT wants to cut benefits for solo mums, so I vote for her in my electorate vote. The party vote I tend to decide on the day. Kinda agree actually, i have a solo mum, sure a benifet would have helped a bit i guess. She works really hard, no child support of benefits. Benefits... f**k that makes them lazy, benefits make anyone lazy, i say can all f**king benefits and get the lazy ass freeloaders off their lazy asses and get f**kin jobs!! Also go Winston Peters. Get rid of the imports god dammit!! Edited June 24, 2007 by ED1RTY
ThreeOneEight 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2007 North Shore is relative how? as for humour, try being funny. and get old enough to vote. My apologies, I'll get out the 'Bimmersport Guide to Politically Correct Humour and Pandering to Minorities" next time I'm at the library. As for North Shore, well, it's a Lower North Island in-joke. jpp 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2007 Cutting all benefits will increase crime, decrease quality of life, and therefore we have a bigger problem. If anything, make it harder to get benefits. Or make them work for their benefits.

Grant 4 Report post Posted June 24, 2007 I reckon the status quo(far from perfect) is miles better than any alternative I'm inclined to agree. Although I am likely to vote Labour again, I won't be too disappointed either way...but then again I won't be living here during the majority of the next electoral term, so it won't matter to me too much. Cheers Grant
nath 134 Report post Posted June 24, 2007 (edited) I think my mother qualifies as being a solo mum, but still i think Threeoneeight knows what he is talking about with benefits- and i would tend to agree. i'd simply prefer to see a National government. -he has a degree in politics, so may be able to back himself up... Why thankyou. I'm fairly cynical about politics, which is probably why I study architecture now. As usual I was taking the piss, I don't ACTUALLY want to burn all solo mothers. Just the ones who do it over and over again. But to a lesser degree I do wish we had proper 'welfare' rather than 'money for nothing and the taxi chits for free' style of benefit overindulgence that both major parties seem to provide for. Whether they admit it or not depends on whos votes they're after.

ThreeOneEight 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2007 That hitler dude had some pretty sound ideas. Autobahns and Porsches, yes. Just a shame about his oversupply of raw material for the soap manufactuing industry.
cainchapman 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2007 (edited) Zyklon B was a pesticide or disinfectant. Not used in Soap manufacture. Dictatorships achieve alot more than a democracy in a shorter time. Maybe not the best stuff though. Caesar effectively invented the Autobahn. Edited June 24, 2007 by Cain
ThreeOneEight 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2007 Zyklon B was a pesticide or disinfectant. Not used in Soap manufacture. I was talking about ash- a byproduct of gas chambers, and traditionally used in soap manufacture(though not usually from gas chambers!).
