They say '88 530 but it's got 540 badge on back (I know that doesn't mean much!)

Has wide bonnet flare like the V8s

Looks like one of the quite a few ex-UK 6cyl 530 manuals. Not bad cars.

There a quite a few 5's on $1 Reserve at the moment. A couple of E39 540i's too

Will be an M30 B30 I think

Don't think this model was sold new in NZ

Id say the bonnet has been replaced at some point. Only the v8's had the wide 'flaring' but the grill is still the thin version indicating a straight 6.

Having said that it could be the bonnet is genuine and the grill and headlight surrounds have been replaced !

Passed this today. It's parked up Church St next to Mt Smart Stadium.

I'mma check it out tomorrow. Needs a paint from what I saw.

no . just brought a 525i 94 today std grill . some excutive package ones has wide grill 520i and 525i etc

There is no doubt you could fit the wide bonnet and kidneys on all the cars, but it was (as far as I know) only the v8's that had them from the factory.

It was certainly that way for the e32's....not to say your arent right of course Darryl ;)
