E34 problem

Recommended Posts

Guest 540Si

Hi guys

Just this morning I've developed a problem with the 540. Dropping from 3rd to 2nd I had a huge "clunk" which continued while in gear - clunk clunk ... etc

Limped off to the side then tried again - same thing , any gear except reverse

Still have power just this noise and a bit of shudder to go with it.

What do you reckon? - clutch, diff - hopefully not the gearbox

I'm driving a 540 with 6 speed manual box and an LSD from a 750

Thanks

Simon

guibo/flex disc/centre bearing

Thanks Paul

That's looking likely. Am going to limp round the corner shortly and get them to throw it on the hoist

Brent you were the very next person I was going to email! Was just looking thru your TM listings to see what you had left out of those v8's.

Believe mine has a large case 3:25 now - am waiting on the full diagnosis this afternoon then will probably get back to you.

Cheers
