BMW POWER 2 Report post Posted November 27, 2007 Hey Guys I am one of those unfortunate souls that has been blessed with not one, but two clocks in my car. One on the console area, and one IN my cluster. Now this is annoying and someone suggested getting a rev gauge and putting it in my cluster. I was wondering what is involved, the costs, time, could it be an Emma-Dad weekend mission or would we have to pull my baby to pieces, including the dash. Cheers Emma
Mark 178 Report post Posted November 27, 2007 Brings new meaning to the saying "0-100 in 15 minutes"!!! I'd love to see a pic of this, is the clock the same size as a regular tachometer?
Andrew 30 Report post Posted November 27, 2007 Takes 10 mins top to remove the instruments - I guess a normal cluster will plug in Remove steering wheel (optional - but the bus wheel gets in way) Remove the underdash bit Feel up under inside the dash and undo two large thumbscrews Using Phillips screwdriver undo the two screws up the top - pull out the black bezel around the bash (actually there is some at the bottom also) Then undo the 2 (or 4?) screws that hold the cluster in and pull it out and pull out all the cables.
