E46 330 calipers and rotors (larger than E36 M3 Brakes) fit straight on. 17`s are needed for adequate clearance.

I am running stock rotors and pads on a 328 which are bigger than yours but had Mintex 1166 pads previously.

The stock combo works better than the 1166 on the road and never had any fade, car is tweaked to 168 kW and driven quickly.

Stock set up is good if in good nick.

Can someone elaborate on the 330 rotor size

330i size is 325mm x 25mm.

you need the calipers and the caliper carriers. Direct bolt on.

You also need minimum 17" wheels.

Then for a firmer pedal, you need the E36 M3 master cylinder.

Its pretty good for a cheap option BUT it adds a SHITLOAD of unsprung mass from the bigger calipers and the bigger rotors = slower acceleration.

Stick with the OEM rotors and get proper pads for it.

A much better option.

True story this.

I guess if the 328 brakes are larger then that would be a good idea.

If the brake cylinder is any bigger than your current ones you'll need the master cylinder too.

You wont out drive them on the road.

I'm running Mintex 1166 pads (on an E34). They definitely generate less dust than the OEM Pagids and when you track the car hard, they don't fade anywhere near as quickly. When I need to replace them, I will probably do it again. They have given great life.

I seriously doubt that you need bigger brakes (unless you are planning a big jump in power). 3pedals is correct, for day to day driving the OEM setup is pretty good.

I am unsure (as I'm too lazy) whether any of the forum sponsors do pads. But talk to them if they do, otherwise go to 0800racebrakes.

Better tyres will enhance your braking more than bigger brakes, and will stick in corners better.
