antil33t 90 Report post Posted November 22, 2009 Also, newer cars are easy to work on, well I find them easyer. FWD V6. Sucks about the car dude, I have to replace my entire motor due to it overheating... grr.
Apex 693 Report post Posted December 6, 2009 On the road again! Thanks to Gavin and Euro Italian for the brilliant service and reasonable prices and this very helpful guide to changing the Tensioner, belts and water pump..also swapped out the thermostat that looked like something found at the bottom of the ocean and did a filter and oil change, 20w40 to quieten the old engine up a bit.. Would you believe the hardest part of the job was removing the old oil filter! The Extractors make it a tough job. Painted and Fitted strut tower brace also so that was Saturday gone then went to the beach on Sunday.

Apex 693 Report post Posted December 6, 2009 (edited) Cheers, TBH it has been on axle stands the last four months so I haven’t cleaned it in ages I will have to after 14k of dusty roads yesterday though. It has so much wax on it will just hose off. I love the thing but it’s a bit small, I feel like a giant in it, needs some leather so I can slide in and out easy Edited December 6, 2009 by Apex

Guest Ari Gold Report post Posted December 6, 2009 +1, The only thing I haven't had to do is replace the fuel tank, pull out the rear sub-frame and put an engine back together. Everyone with an E30 should have done this to replace the bushings with urethane on the sub frame and trailing arms.
Jamez 2147483647 Report post Posted December 6, 2009 yeah, its the next project just need to price all the bits up

Guest Ari Gold Report post Posted December 7, 2009 Definitely, transformed mine. Do the control arms in urethane at the same time.
Jamez 2147483647 Report post Posted December 7, 2009 I know JiB wants to do his aswell, maybe we could group buy going.
Apex 693 Report post Posted December 7, 2009 Have done the control arm and sway bar in Nolithane, might look at doing this next time something dies near the back. Where is the fuel pump on an E30?? I have $10 on that failing on me at some point could be wort replacing both at the same time.
antil33t 90 Report post Posted December 7, 2009 Where is the fuel pump on an E30?? Under the back seat I think. Nice car Apex, Do want that engine bay.... What sort of intake is that?
Apex 693 Report post Posted December 7, 2009 (edited) It’s just a Simota enclosed pod filter, the braces were made up to suite, feeds straight onto the stock inlet behind the headlight. Should have done the bushes when I had the diff out. Edited December 7, 2009 by Apex
bravo 35 Report post Posted December 7, 2009 I know JiB wants to do his aswell, maybe we could group buy going. +1. On my list of "to-do". Fronts and both sway bars done already.
Apex 693 Report post Posted December 7, 2009 Group buy it is. Mods, Can we move and dissect this to a Group Buy: Rear Nolithane Subframe Bushes. Thread.
QuickSilver 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2009 There's two pumps (depending on your setup) an intank pump, situated... inside the fuel tank, under the rear seat. Although not all use the dual pump setup. And an external pump just in front of the left rear wheel arch. Follow the loud noise coming from that area Looks good Graham. Apex 693 Report post Posted March 16, 2010 Sold. Didn’t expect so fast TBH. Seem to have luck at this TM thing, cars sell first auction every time. Note all people that looked at I or contacted me already had an E30 or have owned one before. Hope the new owner will enjoy it as much as I have. Now I just have to wait for a replacement to pop up. Will look at a cheap E34 station wagon or the like.
