Greg111 13 Report post Posted March 5, 2008 You can usually buy W/S manuals from the dealer.
hybrid 1043 Report post Posted March 5, 2008 Just easier to do it yourself parts wise ... Guido at BM workshop is the only independant (outside of the dealers)I know of that actually has the specail tools to do vanos. Although Gavin @ hi Velocity can actually do it too .. just he doesnt have the tools handy ... (he gets them of guido when he needs them ) http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?mo...hg=11&fg=15 edit: not sure where and what in greymouth area however sorry. j_tomo 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 in that parts diagram just listed it doesnt show any of the problem bits there is a seal in the r/h cylinder and broken springs in the l/h side above oring 6 as far as i can see nothing needs to be timmed so i cant see the need for special service tools

j_tomo 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2008 time to change the topic to I LOVE MY M3!!!!!!!! its a completly different car pulls hard from idle to redline non servicable item my a@se cost me less than $500 to repair (how ever it was off the road for a month) the most obvious fault would be a loose solder connection on the top solenoid (at the front of the vanos unit theres a funny shaped plate held in with 4 cap screws and has wires coming out the top and bottom) if you think your beemas a bit lacking in the go department follow the two wires mentioned under the vanos unit take the black plate off thats held in with two 10mm nuts find the wire conections and test the resisstance of each they should be the same ive taken a few pics i could write up a procedure if anyones interested jeremy

Grant 4 Report post Posted April 1, 2008 Excellent nice work. It is great when something relatively innexpensive to fix, can make the world of difference. Well done, Cheers Grant
