Hi Mark, is that the right manual box to run in the E30 series? If so how much of an overhaul does it need before it can be used? Cheers.

Yes this is the 240 Manual as required for the 320's.

The 2nd hand gearbox in my race car cost about $1200 for the kit and i then spent a further $1000 having it overhauled. To be honest i'm not sure this is really necessary as they appear failry robust however i just did not want any issues mid season.

As always i have since found out i could have had the gearbox overhauled a lot cheaper as the parts thru BMW with our discount mean if you can find cheap labour then you dont really need a specialist gearbox place.

I would imagine anyone buying a gearbox for a race car would have the syncro's replaced as a matter of caution, apart from that i believe they are a good strong box.
