deeveus 81 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 Picked it up. There's not a mark on the car at all - Grade 5 Jap import.
jjs 64 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 Nice lookin' wagon. You must be stoked. Got any interior shots? Can you remove the very jap looking front plate holder?
deeveus 81 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 Removed that just before mate, I hated it lol. Got some nice chrome ones from Repco instead.

deeveus 81 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 She's the V6 mate & it goes very very well. 220 I've had it to so far, It's quicker than the E60 in certain rev ranges, quicker off the mark aswell. Interior pics:

Tomo 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 Nice Touareg! from memory that would be the air suspension dial on the right behind the gear lever? Fun trick suspension if it is. Is that plastic box under the park brake a jap toll system?
deeveus 81 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 Yeah no air suspension on this unit, I've heard some horror stories, similar to the P38 Range Rovers. That little unit is a Japanese Jammer & GPS guided radar detector & it works too!!! Was sitting at a comfy 125 on the way back, passed a mufti cop and it went bezerk, he didn't read my speed so I guess it worked!
greenday-rulz21 6 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 As far as I know jammers are illegal in new zealand, not having them but being caught using them. Be careful how you use it
Yuen 16 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 Looks really good, great paint and cockpit. Is that GPS? Btw - is it on snow tires? Nice bonus with the jammer
deeveus 81 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 She's running on very quiet Michelin 255 R18 Road tyres, no snow tyres thank god. They're 7mm on each, so I'd say they have recently been replaced. Nick, my arguement to that is, I have no idea what it is/was, it just beeps. Further, I'll say it should have been removed by customs when the vehicle arrived. GPS/DVD/CD/AM/FM/30GB HDD No need for a CD Stacker, I just put a disk in and press record and it saves them in a clever compression format so it uses bugger all hdd space. 318Touring 40 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 Nice. Has it done 106000kms? Who did you use again?
deeveus 81 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 106k which I know sounds very high, but it was a good deal, the car was a grade 5 import which is the best, also the highest grade interior. AA checked, service history, done 100km in 3 years lol, so well serviced! Used Auto Importers. 220kph in a Touareg is nothing!!!! @ 220 it was as smooth as! Rembering that the chassis, & loads of other components are the same as the Porsche! V10 diesels do 230kph Mine is running on 18" 255 tyres which are road tyres that are also very very smooth running. the W12 Touareg's are limited to 250kph only because of the tyres & the EU agreements. 318Touring 40 Report post Posted April 22, 2008 (edited) 106k which I know sounds very high, but it was a good deal, the car was a grade 5 import which is the best, also the highest grade interior. AA checked, service history, done 100km in 3 years lol, so well serviced! It's amazing, I thought the mileage is below 50000kms. I thought you don't buy cars from dealers? This is them right? The prices are typical of dealers prices.... Edited April 22, 2008 by 318Touring
hybrid 1043 Report post Posted April 24, 2008 Sounds like its got it all, 220 in an SUV is getting a bit dodgy? nah dude ... I saw a cayenne turbo jump on the motorway onramp after going around a 90 degree bend at about 80kph .. didnt break traction .. it just was the fastest thing i've seen in a while. hehe Supercar like handling even. Things have come a long way from the Ford Explorer days.
