Hi I'm a newbee

Recommended Posts

Hi people I'm a newbee to this site. I only became aware of it today. I live in Papatoetoe, Auckland, New Zealand., and drive a 1996 BMW 325i Motorsport coupe. I will try to post a picture of it, but as I'm new to this site, it may not work.

Welcome,

Nice e36, is it a Manual?

Sorry Quailboy but it's an auto.

What I spent a long time looking for was an E36 M Sport Coupe in black. My preference was for a 328 5 speed but after 6 months looking I ended up with the 325 Auto. Still a great car though.

I have done a fair amount of work on the car, eg 18" alloys, M3 spoiler, flared the rear guards, and recently added M3 rear vision mirrors.

The badge is not some cheap Taiwanese copy, I've had the car for some 19 months now with the badges on and there is no sign of deterioration yet, cross fingers

BTW I see that there is a meeting each month at Albany, does it still happen?

Cool. Do you have clear indicators on your tail lamps?

I too know what it's like to not be able to find the vehicle you're after in manual and you have to opt for an auto!

Welcome to BS

Yes the car has clear rear indicators. You may have also noticed the chrome front grill which is aftermarket and fitted in Japan before I purchased it.

Welcome! Your car looks very nice. Just wondering - is it really a 325? Never heard of a 1996 325 - they stopped around 1994, might be a few 1995 around but by 1996 should be a 323 with the 2.5L M52.

Regarding the M roundel - I've always assumed it's an aftermarket item as I have never seen BMWs come with it from the factory.

thats one sweet condition car, reminds me of Yuens old car.

That's exactly what I thought :(

The car is a Japanese import, It was purchased as a 325 and once it was complied the MR2A had the cc rating as 2,500 cc. I can only go by what they said.
