Jason Richards (V8 Supercar Driver) came into work today to promote his Celebrity Go-Kart race in Christchurch next weekend. Really nice guy, very chatty and not stuck up at all.

Hillary Barry and Mike McRoberts (TV3) came to my college to promote environmental stuff. Very nice as well, sound exactly as they do on tv. Bill Clinton @ the E60 launch

In the states last year i met the rapper DMX (surprisingly friendly and chatty) while sitting at a table in Starbucks

Also had a 6 hour stopover in New York city with Nicholas Cage when our plane was delayed. Nice guy, wanted to catch up with my dad for a beer last time Dad was over in the States on business.

In my hotel days quite a few celebs came through, most were really good to talk to, usually very friendly but did get the odd over dramatic superstars screaming and throwing what ever they could get hold of down the hall at you, a certain Village People member comes to mind *ahem*, others that came through and I spoke with personally were, John Cleese (Very funny man), Shania Twain (loves her mashed potatos), The Red Hot Chilli Pepper guys, Lenny Kravitz, Cher, Hi5 (they were "interesting" to say none the least), Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster, Nana Mascouri, Prince William on his brief stopover Wasn't able to engage in conversation with him though just a brief welcome and greeting. Neil Diamond almost had more security than Prince William. And some Royal family from some middle eastern country. Springboks were resident in the hotel for a couple of weeks, The english rugby team, They were some of the international celebs, NZ ones in droves and most were forgettable, Gary McCormack in his Salmon *cough* Pink taylored suit. The list wanks on.

sportspeople and business leaders are worthy of celebrity value.

In the music industry I get to meet quite a few NZ and international celebs / famous people. I haven't met a bad one yet, and they all are great people generally very hard working and humble.

I'd say the favourite one I've met (and it could have been because I didn't know who she was until after) was Sarah O'Hare. I spent an hour getting a haircut next to her and just chatting, then showed her the way to the local supermarket (in central Brisbane) and saw her the next night on the Footy show. Deb and the guys from work told me I was a tool. I guess I don't read enough tabloid sh*t.

She was genuinely very nice and very pretty.

This dude wanted his photo with me the other day. But Logan is a mate, so he doesn't really count.

Plenty of racing drivers.

A couple of years ago at high school Robbie Deans came to talk to our school and we got to shake his hand and talk to him ect.

He was very motivational

Great Guy.

And thats about it for me, 2 of the 3 people i want to meet are dead and the other is very old.

Have wanted to ever since there was a really good documentary on TV about them.

Met and had quite a chat with Ian Gillan lead singer of Deep Purple, due to the fact that in the early 80's i resprayed his beloved FIAT 131 Mirafiori TC. Cool guy and down to earth, when not on tour he still used to live with his dear old mum. Though he had enough money to buy a castle.

Also had tea with Jackie Stewart (F1 World champ) and his mum who was a friend of my mum, i think i was about 9yrs old at the time.

Other claim to fame is that i resprayed the Jag that was featured in Morse after it was set on fire at the end of series 3 (if that counts).

Couple years ago at my Step Sisters 21st I met 'Tiffany the Rich Bitch' (Sarah _____?) off Living The Dream (prob don't remember show- ages ago), shes pretty cool.

I've also met Winton Rufer and Leigh Hart (That Guy).

Meet heaps of Crusaders and Highlanders (most of them when im out in town). Used to play rugby with Tim Bateman

Used to play rugby with Robbie Deans son. So meet Robbie Deans a few times.

The British and Irish Lions trained at our school for 2 weeks, meet a few of them, the big name guys weren't very talkative, and it was impossible to get even close to Johnny Wilkenson, but amazing to watch him practice kicking.

Also meet lee hart; 'that guy' a couple of times.

Marc Ellis, amongst other minor NZ celebrities you see around and I cant remember.

O, and Shane Warne.

Would love to meet someone like richard branson.

In the late 70's I was head function waiter at Lennons Hotel in Brisbane-very classy at the time.

We had the US vice president(to Lyndon Johnson) staying & did a Govt dinner.They took 3 floors for security reasons.All we staff had to pass pre visit AFP & secret service background checks.And believe me the secret service are EXACTLY like they're portrayed on TV but the vice pres & his staff were really friendly & normal .

Some years later I was maitre'd at a well known restaurant in Brisbane when an aide to Harry Belafonte(you young dudes wont have a clue) called saying he needed somewhere to watch a west indies v oz cricket test after his show & would we open for him after hours.

I got volunteered & spent several hours with a truly charming,normal man.

Another surprise was Jo Bjelke-Peterson the Qld Premier who,in spite of his fearsome reputation,again was down to earth & always treated those who worked for him with the greatest courtesy.But then he was a kiwi!!

Have met heaps of celebs thro my work & they fall into 2 groups. The truly great ones are humble & down to earth & the wannabes are generally a-holes.
