If I was looking to buy a new car I'd definitely consider this one.

It might be reasonably cheap, but it only has the 3 ltr. motor, not the more desireable Evolution 3.2 ltr.

The 3.0 5-Speed is actually quite desirable as it’s tough as nails and a better car for racing.

Id sooner a 3.0L 5-Speed than a 3.2 with auto manual.

What’s with the “mutton dressed as lamb†wheels on this car ad who is MOD?

who is MOD?

Mod's Motors

Not the best motoring newsletter, granted, but good prizes usually. I won a motorsport DVD once which was pretty cool.

Ah I should know about MOD.

He is a muppet. That’s not even a astra VXR and they don’t run torsen, it’s my old car pictured BTW I got a free Trade-Me credit.

lol. Do you mean torsion (as in the spring) or torsen (as in the type of diff)? and does the astra have either???

He says torsion bars (ie the spring). On the one hand he says they're old skool (which would hint at the spring) but on the other he says that means the bum never lets go (which would hint at the diff). Torsion bars don't provide any more grip than coil springs in theory.

Without ever meeting the guy I wouldn't call him a muppet personally. I imagine its hard to write about any car and not get something wrong the purists and nerds will notice (like pretty much every article on any BMW in Classic Car). At least he has good choice in cars (M3) and bikes.

He said 'torsion bar rear end’, of which the Astra did not have.

Only way I could get mine sideways was under very heavy breaking.

Anyone who is writing about something in a publication should get things write, he has probably never driven an Astra and knows nothing about them. It’s not just the Torsion comment it’s the fact he has a link to a car that’s not even a VXR.. Not that it bothers me as I sold it! Yawn **falls asleep thinking about Astra**

That's a bit a of a bugger he selling that car.

Mike would gain the Bimmers stacks of club points at the Intermarque.

Goes very well.

Ohh and he's a nice Guy.

Looks like a real nice wagon. Good price too - wish it was on the market when I was looking 6 months back...
