Foohey 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 Ok, so, my E36 is going into the shop on monday to get painted, and i went in this afternoon, and the guy handed me a booklet of more than 500 kinds of black..... so, my question to all bimmer lovers out there is... Should i get Black... Or.. Black with Pearl... Never really seen pearl done before and unsure what pearl would look like on a bmw, or what colour to do it with input welcome

Mark 178 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 Are you getting a full engine-out repaint?
*Glenn* 855 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 I;d have to say ...keep with the same colour. A colour change never looks right unless it's a full strip. Just my opinion.. but you might regret doing it At the end of the day though it has to be your choice BTW..black pearl is a great colour
westy 614 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 If your cars real straight and the painters real good go solid black. No pearl, no metalic. Shwartz(sp) II is the BMW black for later e36s. Glenn does have a point tho. All your door jams, underside of the boot and bonnet, engine bay ect have to be painted to make it look right.
Foohey 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 ok, everything is getting painted accept arround the engine, that will be done in a few months time when the new engine goes in.. he showed me some black with red pearl and damn it looks cool! but theres just too many to choose from
briancol 3 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 My E36 goes into the paint shop next week also, but only for accident repairs. I'm sticking to the original Cosmosschwartz (metalic).
chompa 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2008 chosing paint is hard huh! for me, its one of those things you'll love as soon as its done then wish you had done something different later as you get bored of it.. whats the bronze color bmw used in the 1970's anyone? LOVE that color tho not sure if it would look good on a later model bmw... i had a e21 in it..
Cale 36 Report post Posted July 5, 2008 Decisions, decisions. Solid black would be cool, I wish my car was. If not, a colour close to an original BMW black will always look good. But thats only my opinion.
