Mark 178 Report post Posted July 15, 2008 You could Dynamat (sound insulation) the entire boot.... but you'll still have the bootlid rattling on it's hinges, not really any way to stop that!
pjay 8 Report post Posted July 16, 2008 Its simple. Find the rattle.. and stop it?? If its on the exterior, you need to make the bits rattling heavier to stop them vibrating as much, if its inside the car, foam that bitch up. Dynamat is your friend as mentioned before. On your wheel wells, in the boot, the boot lid. More the boot lid to stop flex, not rattle. Listen for the rattle, let me know where its rattling, and i can provide some options. thatamature 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2008 ive seen expanding filler foam used used in the cavitys to stop body rattle, or you could turn it up more so you cant hear the rattle
hybrid 1043 Report post Posted July 17, 2008 Pull the tail lights out and check the rear transum. It will be the plate metal in there... it is in most cars.
stylish_division 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 (edited) 2 x 12s is a good option. try fitting 15s in a e36 lol im sure uve got the same problem as me. took me ages to figure out where rattle was. it was my trunk lock release button, open up the numberplate light unit and ull see a bare trunk lock release button, jam something around it. It was numberplate surround too. Edited August 6, 2008 by gdm.yo
