transmission fluid

Recommended Posts

Ive finally found a transmission fluid 'dipstick' in my 98 e36 318i... does this car have a different transmission to the 316i...as the dipstick was more obvious in that one. Anyways its running real low, so i was wondering if there is a special transmission oil for it? or will any auto transmission fluid do?

while im at it, any recommendations for topping up engine oil also. cheers

It will take either full synthetic G3 or longlife oil, dependant on transmission type

The engine, I would recommend 15W40 we use ELF, but any well branded oil is OK
