Mattzy 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2008 Do those actually fit on an E30 (conflicting info about whether they clear the brakes) - or do they need a spacer? I've also heard the same. It will be interesting to see if they do, unfornately I will have to wait for the new suspension to arrive before that happens. I've got the 51mm dia shocks btw. Parts update: M20B25 cambelt - Supplier found - waiting on pricing Waterpump - Supplier found - waiting on pricing Idler pulley - Supplier found - waiting on pricing F/R wheel bearing - Supplier found - waiting on pricing Offset castor bushes - Supplier found - waiting on pricing Gearknob - Contact in Japan needed to send goods Gearbox oil - Supplier found - waiting on pricing HID Kit - Contact in Japan needed to send goods Sideskirts - Argh... no idea, currently cant justify $250+ F/L passengers Map holder - JiB may be able to help F/R drivers handle trim - JiB again! Mattzy 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2008 (edited) 11/9/08 Updation nation! Wheels have arrived and pricing has been sorted on all the above items that I was waiting on pricing for. Pictures of the wheels this afternoon if I have time before training. Wheels don’t look like they will clear the front brakes, but will have to wait for the suspension to arrive to confirm. Bimmersport sticker is in the mail! JiB's sorted my trim pieces + tires for the rear (195/50/16) Thanks dude! I’m looking at cheap & nasty Hong Kong spec HID kits. Also I’m looking at UK spec short shift kits - Don’t really want to break $100nzd landed & has to include the pivot bush (or whatever it’s called in BMW world) Haven’t really got much done this week other than pulling a few A/C bits out and tidying some electrics. I should at least have mocked the rear wheels up / folded the guard lips ready to be rolled by Sunday. Edited September 11, 2008 by Mattzy

Mattzy 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2008 (edited) New toys: While im waiting for my suspension and other pieces to arrive I decided to sort out my sloppy shifter and lack of a gear knob (Still need to find a gear boot and inner boot for that matter) Im putting sloppyness down to a worn pivot bush - So naturally I puchased a whole new short shifter! And you guys are going to love this.. My knob finally arrived. Cue the 1980's porn music and make way for the dominator As stated earlier; I'm also after a gear boot and inner dust boot if anyone has either. Few more pics of the rear wheel fitment: Thanks for viewing! Edited September 15, 2008 by Mattzy

Mattzy 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2008 (edited) Thanks for the comments lads! Hahah nice gear knob, looks like the kind my nana has on her taps at her house. Man going to look cool as when its done, I hope you have fully decided on making it black now Haha, I know the sort your talking about. And yes, the car will be gloss black. But maybe with a silver pearl (read: whatever is lying around the paintshop ) I am also thinking about leaving the wheels the colour they are because they actually good quote good on the black body. PS JiB - Dont tempt me mate! I'm struggling with finally owning a car that not only has full interior, but has full leather! Damn that shits heavy! Front 195/50/16's in SP Sportmaxx - still need to call for pricing LSD - Leaning much more heavily towards a welded diff alternative Air filter - Want a K/N kit with adaptor but havent had a look at whats out on the market Still a few dents at the back of the car which need to be pulled and a few little things to sort. Hopefully once the suspension arrives I can really get into it and get it back on the road. PS - What are these steering wheels worth? Its in pretty good nick and thinking about ditching mine but I can't seem to find many like it to gauge its pricing. Thanks for viewing! bravo 35 Report post Posted September 16, 2008 (edited) Or Marley sideskirts FTW. There were some guys in the US modifying Modeo or some such sideskirts to fit e30's IIRC. Edit - nope it was Taurus side skirts - I knew it was some ugly as sin POS Ford. Can also get the front lip of a Volvo 40 to fit on F/L valance by mounting it upsode down and trimming the ends - looks similar to an iS lip. Some dude on bimmerforums did it and looks OK. I think your car needs this kind of rangi-mod done to a decent quality level it would make this car stand out. Im after something clean and simple - hmmm it is looking like I may have to start looking at some designs and do some mockups in cardboard. Suggestions of designs are welcome. Cheers Oh and I thought that the steering wheel would at least be worth a bit? Was hoping to swap it out for something more my flavour!
Mattzy 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2008 (edited) Evening! I picked up all the bits for the weekend cambelt and waterpump swap on my lunchbreak today. Once I was home we got the R/R hub and LCA out. I'm sending it all to my friends work so that he can push the wheel bearings out and slap new ones back in for me. We also removed the rear shocks and I had a quick tap or two at any downward protuding seams/bolts in the front guards. My BS sticker arrived today! With fitment instructions!! I photoshopped a JDM swanky sticker above it... The sticker has got "danger to manifold" written all over it! (10 points to the person who picks up on that quote!) My short shifter also arrived; I've had to change tact a bit on this one - My plan is to cut the end off the shifter and weld that bolt on so that I can run my super badass looking gearknob. Sadly the shaft is far to wide to cut a thread into it. I also had a chance to pick up my Nolathane castor bushes or lower control arm bushes (whatever your flavour) I will probably get these pushed in when the cars in for an alignment - looking at a writeup on the internet it doesnt really look like a garage friendly operation at all. Thanks for viewing Edited September 17, 2008 by Mattzy
Tomo 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2008 (edited) make sure that you cut out a section of the chassis and rivet in a piece of checkerplate so it can inexplicably fall out when you hit the nos. sh*t would look tight then. edit: btw nice project, looks nice and a few different touches here and there, nice rims for it will be good to see them with tyres & on the ground...
