far4ngn 14 Report post Posted September 14, 2008 Ok, I'm wondering how many E30 318is' are actually still out there in New Zealand and thought that I'd ask my fellow members how many we've got here in Bimmersport. I've a May 1990 (Actually sold new in 1991, ooh could be the last one sold new in NZ?) Sterling Silver E30 318is and its covered 203,000kms problem free km's. So how many others are knocking around? bmw.maniac 1 Report post Posted September 14, 2008 (edited) There's Beau's white one, and is it Jeddy (?) who's just bought a red one and Gus' red 318iS Turbo. I'm sure there's another red one knocking around somewhere! Plus I can think of two others that aren't on Bimmersport, on red one in Wellington that I was thinking about, and another really mint one down in Christchurch that someone went and viewed and reckoned they could "eat their lunch of that engine, it's so clean!" Andrew 30 Report post Posted September 15, 2008 The turbo doesn't really count now as it is so bastardised hah.
Mark 178 Report post Posted September 15, 2008 This one Nice car- but high kms and blue interior? Wonder where reserve is. Don't think the interior is blue... just looks that way in the photo. Most likely the blue-looking bits are gray.

Mark 178 Report post Posted September 15, 2008 6k seems high considering Jed got his for the same price with 80,000 less k's. Although it does look well looked after and has a SSK, airbox etc. I am tempted. M42's (M40's?) are cheap as chips if it blows up.

jjs 64 Report post Posted September 18, 2008 Spotted a rough looking red one yesterday. Numberplate started with a P, paint was chipping off and generally looked neglected. Was parked in the Wilson car park (if you could call it that!) in front of the Scene apartments in between Foodtown and Britomart.

far4ngn 14 Report post Posted September 18, 2008 Yup must admit they look better in the original state, the Mtech II boot spoiler and all the other bits sounds like it may have had a hard life.
liam02 6 Report post Posted September 18, 2008 Hard life- far from it. i used to own that car and all the previous owners I knew also. That is one pampered car, owned by enthusiasts and always maintained- two years ago I replaced the exhaust with a genuine one ex germany. I agree the addition of the rear spoiler is not in keeping with genuine IS spec ( NZ anyway ) Amazing how they hold their value
