Favourite pre 90's BMW's

So i was watching Lethal Weapon 2 a few days ago and it starts with a car chase. Anyway, the vehicle being chased is a e24, which eventually crashes, a bit of a shame but oh well.

I though to myself "f**k thats a hot car".

Just thought id start a topic on what your favourite pre 1990 BMW is

There is nothing cooler than an e30 M3. End of story!!!!! 850s are pretty awesome too i reckon. And i wouldn't turn down an e24 635 come to think of it!

Ok,

So I know it wasnt ever anything other than a styling excersise, but it did spawn the M1, so I think it has to be said there is none better than the Turbo, and thats saying something from the man who believes there is no better BMW than Jimmy Richards Grp A 635.

And yes I know the pic is of Dennys old car not Jim's

Thats why bmw annoys me... Do ALL there cars have to be so goddamn sexy? My ideal garage would have at least 5 bmw's before any other make lol.

I think alot of manufacturers made some hot cars pre-1990. The jappas of the 90's (and even 80's alot of the time) don't have anything on their earlier stablemates.

Sure I can say it is pre 90's. They only made 47 in 1989, sure only one was an RHD car and it was an auto, but there were 5 manual 850i's made in 1989

Anyway the shape was all the same through to the 850CSI's and later 850Ci's. In fact they made 55 850Ci's in 1999 and 253 840Ci's in 1999, a 10 year life span!

How about the first affordable M car...the E12 M535i?

The E9's are pretty cool, the only problem is the rust, the factory assembled E3's were bad enough, the Karmann assembled E9s were shockers.
