uhlsta 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2008 Hey guys. A mate of mine need his stabilizer bar tightened, does anyone know how much this would cost to do and if it's reasonably easy? And how much it would cost to replace if need be? Cheers

*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted November 17, 2008 It would need to be checked. Your explanation still doesnt help- not specific enough. Loose could mean anything

uhlsta 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2008 Haha Good Advice! I was just wondering if its gonna be a major job. That's really all my mate wanted to know??
bravo 35 Report post Posted November 17, 2008 Glenn will know more than I do, but if it is your average stabiliser bar , it is held on by two brackets with rubber bushes and 2 linkages with rose-joints and rubber bushes, so either the brackets/bushes have failed, or more likely if it s"loose") 1 or both linkages have gone. find out which it is and buy replacement parts. Installation is DIY for anyone with a bit of mechanical knowledge.
martyyn 2 Report post Posted November 18, 2008 Yeah wof issue. They said it was loose, and need tightening! So why did they not fix it when they were there ? Or at least tell your mate how much it was to fix ?There used to be a time when you went into your local garage and if they saw your washer bottle was empty or if you had a broken bulb or something needed tightening that they would just fix it and be done with it.
