Being technically retarded, you will need to call Graeme Clyde at GAC in CHC to find out more / get further guidance, although I know they were all even / tuned length jobs out of stainless steel. Carl 3 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 (edited) What kind of differnece are we talking here?Difference between what, the standard exhaust manifold and tuned headers???... realistically it depends on your exhaust setup but you could expect something between 5-10 horsies (6cyl) and 25-50 Nm as headers increase flow dramatically and bimmers like to breathe Ian will tell you that his headers added something dramatic (and sounds wicked) after sticking his in. The BMW spec says the E30 323 stock has 129hp at the flywheel, Ian's is doing 129hp at the rear wheels with only headers and exhaust modifications so taking drivetrain loss into account that's quite significant gain considering it's 20+yrs old. As for the difference between aftermarket headers...who knows, probably not a hell of alot...anyone want to venture a guess??? I think $800 for the 2002 and closer, if not over $1,000 for the 325 and the M3 (the latter was a week's work). Damn nice though - M3 is Gruppe A replica (i.e. 2x2 headers). Worth every cent! Extractors, cold air box (battery already in the boot), and some form of ECU upgrade. Oh and a HD clutch.
